The platform debate was a ticketed and paid-for event within the festival with Greta as the draw. If Greta withdraws, the paid-for event as advertised cannot got ahead. I didn’t get any of that info from what you queried… I repeat THE BOOK FESTIVAL ISNT ABOUT GRETA. If Greta has pulled out of a paid for event then Greta is responsible for the event not going ahead . Whine about Greta because Greta responsible. Have I complained or whined about Greta pulling out of a ticked event at the Edinburgh Book Festival? No. I simply explained to those who didn’t understand why an event organiser needed to refund those who’d bought tickets to an associated event that would no longer go ahead now its principal performer had pulled out… I’m not whining, or taking sides. I have no interest in the Edinburgh Book Festival or any of its associated events. Has the Edinburgh Book Festival decided not to go ahead now that Greta has pulled out of an associated event…? |

I’ve never claimed the Edinburgh Book Festival had paid entry. I didn’t need you to tell me that entry was free — if you read back, you might see it was me that explained to the hard of reasoning here, that ticket refunds were for people who’d paid to attend Greta’s bit of stand up, and not for attendees of the free to attend festival. Good luck to all of them… I initially pointed out that the book festival was free. That seemed to trigger you. I pointed out that it was Gretas fault that her paid‘ event’ has to be cancelled . This seems to have triggered you further . The event was free , Greta flounced on her fans . Every time you whine it allows me to point this out . Thank you . |

Calm down and remember that what really matters is that the Edinburgh book festival doesn’t charge entry and isn’t about Greta Thunberg. i would have thought NOT having her there would have increased numbers. If i were in the area it would certainly boost my interest. And because the link is behind a paywall, unless you stump up cash, all you see is the ‘news’ that the climate troll has pulled out of the book festival. No mention in the information provided for free there that she was being paid to star at a ticketed event. And actually no guarantee you get told that if you do stump up, because i didn’t pay so don’t know… |
