The Met Police advised him that they think it is necessary that he needs Police Protection , they must have formed that opinion from what they have heard on the grapevine and Social Media , Khan did not say much other than he stated I am the first Mayor of my race and religion

The total prat now wants us the UK taxpayers to subsidise his bullshit folly.
Sadiq Khan's Ultra Low Emissions Zone (ULEZ) plan is "too little, too late" as the Labour mayor makes a big concession weeks before launch.
Khan has promised a major increase to the vehicle scrappage scheme with "all Londoners" able to get money back for switching vehicles.
Grants of up to £2,000 will be valuable to everyone who chooses to ditch a non-compliant vehicle.
Under the previous rules, free cash was only available to those on low incomes, disabled or those receiving child tax credits.
Meanwhile, van owners will be able to claim an extra £2,000 while small businesses and traders can get £21,000 to upgrade their fleets.

He has dug a hole for himself and now cannot get out of it ULEZ has been a total failure mate. You can send people a bill but you can't force them to pay it.
The great Ulez revolt – drivers snub fines with £250m unpaid in a year
Hundreds of millions in Ulez fines are going unpaid as drivers “revolt” over the controversial charge, casting doubt over its expansion.
Penalty charge notices relating Sadiq Khan’s Ultra-Low Emissions Zone (ULEZ) worth £255m were outstanding at the end of last year, The Telegraph can reveal.
The Mayor of London’s flagship net zero scheme was owed more money from drivers in unpaid fines than it made during the financial year from 2022 to 2023, figures obtained under the Freedom of Information Act showed.
It comes as the Mayor is accused of using an “unintelligible” and “contradictory” consultation to expand the Ulez to all London boroughs next month by lawyers representing a coalition of five Conservative-run councils that is seeking to block the move at the High Court.

The Met Police advised him that they think it is necessary that he needs Police Protection , they must have formed that opinion from what they have heard on the grapevine and Social Media , Khan did not say much other than he stated I am the first Mayor of my race and religion I'm not sure how to take that. I honestly fail to see how his race and religion even matters other than it being used, by him, to push fascism.

He is using his race and religion in a thinly veiled attempt to accuse his detractors of racism. Khan will go down in history as the most hated and incompetent London mayor to date, probably of all time.

Here's a copy of the letter to Sadik Khan from the government in 2020, urging the mayor to set out proposals to extend the ULEZ scheme as soon as possible. The government were right - the London mayor is right, but please dont make the mistake of thinking that extending ULEZ is all down to Sadik Khan or even Labour, because it isent, this is just as much government policy - as posters can see from the letter.

One has to bare in mind that the Congestion Charge was originally the idea of London Mayor Boris Johnson, who drew up the plans and was all set to introduce ULEZ in 2020. Sadik Khan merely progressed the proposals after he successfully defeated Johnson in the election for mayor. so whether or not you believe the letter is, or is not authentic, the background and facts do speak for themselves - ULEZ was a Tory proposal.

The letter you put up did not say those words, Sid. It says: Subject to TfL's statutory responsibilities (particularly in relation to safety), TfL agrees to: The immediate reintroduction of the London Congestion Charge, LEZ and ULEZ and urgently bring forward proposals to widen the scope and levels of these charges, in accordance with the relevant legal powers and decision-making processes.Your interpretation of those words about widening the scope and levels of these charges seems to have become "extend the ULEZ scheme as soon as possible". The letter is evidence of something, but not what you are saying it is evidence of.

Yes indeed, I am aware Boris came up with the crackpot idea. I'm also aware that against the wishes of the vast majority of the people it will affect, Khan implemented it.

No it was Red Ken Livingstone that introduced the Congestion Charge in 2003 Boris proposed the ULEZ back in 2015 to be put in place by 2020, it was Khan that actually put it in place earlier

It was the lefty arsehole Red Ken who instigated this bullshit mate long before Boris had even entered the realms of politics. But the usual know this and still take delight in pushing their old usual lefty bollocks.
