well, the press articles are all saying they refuse to say how they got access. They had their own cameraman with them, in case TV didn't turn up I suppose. He filmed them walking down a lane and climbing through a hedge with ropes and ladders, they walked up to the front of the house sorted their kit out erected their ladders and up they went. I don't know whether this footage has been shown on BBC/ITV, I would have thought so, but it has been shown on GB News. Who was the guy on the yellow jacket that held the gate open for them. He looked like he was waiting for them to arrive. It all looks a bit dodgy all round.

It was suggested earlier by someone on GB News that it all looked... a bit planned, obviously Greenpeace planned it, I mean it looked too easy. It was even suggested the police were tipped off and looked the other way until they were called. I think that may be a conspiracy too far, but who knows.

It seems there's a bit of an in house punch up going on between local police, the Met and Special Branch. No one seems to know who's responsibility it is to provide security for the prime ministers home.
It's not only pathetic but embarrassing, this is being flashed around the world ffs. Left wing woke warriors are far more concerned about pronouns and diversity than realty. They need a wake up call, and I sense it's comming.

Thank you Handyman, I thought I'd slipped into another dimension. Yes I agree, the police have been left very red faced, fortunately that's as embarrassing as it gets. This time.

Morning Red IMHO there is no such thing as 100% security for prominent people such as PM's, Royal Family and others who have protection, the Police can only do so much with the resources they have, their ranks are getting smaller every day Officers are voting with their feet and leaving, we don't have enough Uniformed trained armed Officers to deal with the increasing levels of violence on our streets and the many gangs on London's street everyday, nor do we have enough close protection officers, very long hours 24/7. In WW2 Churchill only had one close protection Officer back then armed with a pistol, who was with him 24/7 his wife left him if I recall correctly.

LOL morning H I agree there's no such thing as 100% secure which is why security around Biden (Or any POTUS) is insane. But we have a bit of catching up to do, to leave the prime ministers house completely unguarded, believe me someone's for the chop. Years ago, yes this is a meander btw... ... we had to provide security for the brigade commander's house. He lived in a large house in the sticks (This is in Germany) and it wasn't for show, we were always out of sight, but within reach. We patrolled those grounds with loaded rifles and there were always two men on the gate 24 hours a day and because it was such a remote location any car that passed was stopped and the occupants were spoken to in fluent German. At the time the IRA were playing silly buggers in Germany and the brigade commander and his family were considered to be high profile targets, so we were playing for real and it didn't matter whether the brigadier was in residence or not, we still had to make sure his house remained secure. And this was a brigadier, not a prime minister.

Yes I remember the IRA attacks in Europe back then and of course here as well, in this day and age if any attack by terrorists lone nutters or whatever odds on the first Police to respond will be unarmed, especially outside of London

Red whilst I agree this is a poor show I really don’t see how it’s got anything to do with the left, the police are in the state they are in due to the cuts imposed by the tories.
You cannot have a cut price police force, officers are often and especially in rural areas alone and without back up,there was a time when a copper alone and in trouble might have got assistance from the public now everyone gets their phones out to film it.
The whole idea of policing by consent has been the trademark here as opposed to other countries where a smack with a baton or worse is the first option.
The only connection I can see to the left is the original introduction by that idiot Blunkett and sanctioned by Blair of the plastic copper which the tories have had ample time to roll back but haven’t.
There’s also the the role of accreditation where some amateur and often totally unsuitable person is given limited powers they imagine are greater and often abused.
We need police and in numbers to enforce the law, they do a difficult and often dangerous job, there are some problems been highlighted by bad apples, the idea it is difficult to dismiss them like those bad apples needs to go..
Numbers and pay should be sufficient to attract the right people and when they are attacked as increasing numbers are on a daily basis the sanction there should be that you will go to jail the flip side being the bad apples should know the same.
The confidence in the police is at an all time low someone needs to grasp that and restore it because if not we will all suffer the consequences.

The confidence in the police is at an all time low someone needs to grasp that and restore it because if not we will all suffer the consequences. We have never had enough Police Officers in the UK for years no matter which Government has been in power, I agree with you on Blunkett and Blair Labour is not known for cracking down on crime they just papered over the cracks. As I have stated Police numbers are falling rapidly due to not enough applicants wishing to join, due to a minority of Officers that have brought shame on the rest of the good hard working Officers which the media repeat and repeat over and over again moral is at all time low, many are leaving due to poor pay and conditions. There were 135,573 police officers in England and Wales in 2022, the highest number of police officers since 2011, when there were 135,072. Between 2010 and 2018 the number of police officers in England and Wales fell by 22,315 officers due to cuts in police funding at this time, not enough of them to Police a population that is now rapidly approaching 70 million an impossible task PS Across England and Wales, a record high 4,575 full-time officers voluntarily resigned from policing last year. It was a 33% increase from 3,433 in 2021-22.
