Totally agree with the EU, the UK has no right in lobbying individual states on EU trade issues, it IS a matter for the EU to deal with. This is a sly and slimey way of our dodgy government attempting to by-pass the EU by attempting to negotiate with individual states - that is not how the Single Market or the trade block works, you have to go to the organ grinder, not the organ grinders monkey. Would our government negotiate with Texas or Alaska to try and get a trade deal with the United States ? Absolute bloody rubbish. The UK government, any government can talk to and discuss anything they like with whoever they like. Who the hell do the Brussels politburo think they are? They are (drum roll) THE EU, a rules based trade alliance, to which you no longer belong. Who do the hell YOU think you are?

The EU is not a rules based trade alliance, that was the EEC or common market. The EU is an unelected and unremoveable political union.

Talking to countries that are in it, and being friendly to them is not wrong. Would our government talk with the United States, Canada or Mexico to minimise friction in our trading with the USMCA trade agreement countries? Of course. Would our government talk with the African Union countries to minimise friction when trading with that? Of course. All you're doing is demonstrating bitterness in the face of courtesy. We should never have been members of the EU, we weren't interested in driving on their side of the road, buying drinks in litres, spending Euros instead of pounds, or being in the common external tariff, instead of being independent. It's better for everyone that we're not in it. We have our own ways of doing things. And we're selling more £££ to the EU now, than we were doing as members.

Let me explain to you once again. RR.
I dont care what you think. You are a lost cause fed and fattened on people like Heaver (appropriate name too).
So if you are ever bored enough to educate yourseld, check out a few pages about how the EU is constructed and the powers allocated to each area.
Or die stupid.

That's a bit rich, it was you who confused the EEC with the EU.

He is zn ignorant idiot. It is illegal for individual countries to make agreements to trade independently. It runs counter to the fundamental underlying principle and identity of the single market. Why do you give credence to such idiots? That's the problem right there. Nowhere else on the planet is it "illegal" for a nation to discuss with another nation how it plans to check goods going to/from its nation. So what? The EU is its own voluntary alliance and no member has ever complained about the rules they signed up to, always after a democratic national vote, when they joined. Who the F are you to tell the EU how to act when you have taken hugz bznefit from the trade agreements You agrzed to and under which you havz thrivzd. If you dont like the way another place does business, drop all those trade deals you cling to and leave off all your bitching about what you already left. It isnt your business or place to criticise because their decisions and organisation dont suit you. NOW who is bitter? Bitter enough to try to divide and rule. It isnt going to work. SAWREE.

The EU is not a rules based trade alliance, that was the EEC or common market. The EU is an unelected and unremoveable political union. The provisions contained within the EEC were simply transfered to the EU, including all the other treaties which were consumed by The EEC, including The Treaty Of Rome, and the Schuman Declaration which had always contained the principles of Freedom Of Movement etc as an eventual goal. When Mr Edward Heath took us into the EEC, the political aims were within the treaty including The Four Freedoms and the principle of further and closer integration. In matters of trade with Britain and member states of the European Union, ONLY the EU is the correct and appropriate body to talk to.

The UK is a country. The EU is not . Yiu may have a part point if the UK was to negotiate with individual EU countries about breaking away from the EU but they haven’t and won’t . So you don’t .

It looks like they're just bragging over the EU having subjegated the member countries. Little France isn't allowed to talk to us. That's how pathetic the EU mindset is and why it doesn't allow the people a vote, or if they do NON means do it anyway.

Only that none of it had the consent of the people, because they were effectively lied to while more and more treaties, that were designed to subjegate, were pushed through by politicians without consent or approval from the people. The moment the people got a say they voted to leave. I understand legal dictatorships are your thing, but they're so detached from democracy that the EU may as well be ruled by corporate think-tanks and Mussolini. Oh wait, it is.

Nothing what so ever to do with Subjugation - The EU is a Pan-Euroapean organisation where states agree to pool sovereignty on certain issues, but principly in matters of trade. The EU as a Single Market, Free Trade Area and Customs Union is widely regarded as a Single Economy, and you simply cannot negotiate trade with an individual member state, it has to be via the body responsible for trade. The Council of Ministers are all elected politicians from their respective elected governments The EU Commissioners are all appointed, one per nation state, by the elected governments of those states The European Parliament is elected

Well, you just told us member states have no say, where it's the EU rulers who call all of the shots. That's subjegation. It's why member states aren't allowed to have referendums. The UK exit put the shits up them. The EU parliament isn't even a parliament. It's a top-down talking shop there to push through the will of the EU commission. This is why no member state or person can make a proposal. Only daddy can do that.
