Are you really reduced to pretending you can’t read the full name of the organisation writing the report.
You are making a fool of yourself again Red. For what is left of your dignity, please stop.

It’s not exactly that. When any news that contradicts his understanding of what the Mail or GB News is peddling, whole sections of fact get redacted in his mind…

Guys, can we get back to the original question. Are the people of the Netherlands safer now than they were when Theo Van Gogh was murdered, and if not, what are the EU and the Dutch government going to do about it? The Netherlands is in Europol.

If the people of the Netherlands feel unsafe, they need to take steps to counteract that. When election time comes around, do not elect a Government that will prohibit you from carrying firearms.
On a slightly wider point, with Ukraine being flooded with weapons of every description, added to the notorious corruption of the area, Europe as a whole needs to brace itself for the consequences of a whole assortment of bad guys having quite an array of weapons with which to do damage or cause greater carnage than before. The end of the war in Ukraine will only signal a further massive availability of untracked weaponry being available on the black market to all sorts of nasty organisations.

Vinny, every year in Netherlands there are around 150 murders. Every year in the UK we have around 700. The population of the UK is around four times that of Netherlands. The Dutch murder rate is a little below ours. Their overall crime rate is a fair bit better than ours.
It’s hard to understand the point of your thread (beyond the opportunity for yet another humiliation of the lesser spotted drunken Rackham!)

There is a credible argument that says .. If you live a controversial life, you will attract controversy, and if you have controversial or extreme views, you can expect controversial or extreme reaction.
A bit like saying ... if you play with fire, expect to get burnt.
HOWEVER, there is no excuse for murdering anyone, or for committing acts of terrorism
When Charlie Hebdo decided in its wisdom to publish cartoons WHICH THEY KNEW WOULD OFFEND SOME MUSLIMS, they got a reaction. Some may say how terrible it was for a Muslim extremist to murder someone .... For me, I would ask WHY DID YOU PUBLISH MATERIAL WHICH YOU KNEW WOULD PROVOKE ANGER. ?
The bottom line on this topic is that "It Happens", it happens in all nations, whether it be Jews against Muslims, Hindus against Christians, or ethnic or political tensions.
In The Netherlands, these kinds of incidents are very rare, they are not a common occurence thankfully, so its not something which requires serious attention, and it most certainly cannot be blamed on the European Union.

Missing the point.
Charlie Hebdo (French satirical magazine) had the right to publish offensive anti religious cartoons. People in the Netherlands have the right to criticise religions including Islam. The government of the Netherlands and the government of the EU have a duty to promote a free speech environment in which religion can be practiced without fear of violence, but also safely criticised without fear of violence.
Nobody has the right to kill other people just because they were offended.

Volkert Van De Graaf was released from prison in 2014. 12 years for murdering someone is not a long sentence at all.

From your link:
European human rights chiefs have told the British press it must not report when terrorists are Muslim.
The recommendations came as part of a list of 23 meddling demands to Theresa May’s government on how to run the media in an alarming threat to freedom speech.
The report, drawn up by the Council of Europe's human rights watchdog, blamed the recent increase in hate crimes and racism in the UK on the 'worrying examples of intolerance and hate speech in the newspapers, online and even among politicians', although the research was done before the EU referendum campaign had even begun.
The suggestions sent to Downing Street urging the UK Government to reform criminal law and freedom of the press and in a brutal criticism of the British press, the report recommends ministers 'give more rigorous training' to journalists.
Nobody in the EU has ordered the British press to do anything. They can't...
