If there's another thread on this, then by all means delete this one.
But, Irish singer Sinead O'Connor has sadly died. Her son committed suicide aged 17 last year.

I loved some of her music. Especially "Nothing compares to U" and "Black boys on mopeds". RIP

I think it's probably time we had a dedicated RIP thread rather than starting a new thread every time someone dies. Her death has nothing to do with the EU either way. General discussion would have been more appropriate. It's not Nothing Compares to EU.

This isn't about politics, now stop being so disrespectful.

She wasn't killed by Brussels bureaucrats.

She was from the EU and died in the EU. Therefore it is news relevant to the EU region of the world.
See?
If someone living in England dies in England, their death is news relevant to England, whether politics or not.
The other boards are politics AND news.
So, is this one.

FFS Monte, Ireland is an EU state, she was Irish. The forum doesn't have an Ireland board, therefor where else should the death of an Irish person be posted other than the EU board?

Filling the EU thread with non-EU related stories just hides all the discussion on the EU which I'm sure is why so many threads that have nothing to do with Brussels are deliberately misplaced. If you want somewhere to put non-EU matters then we can create a European section. And if you really want to show her respect her name was Shuhada Sadaqat and has been since she became a Muslim in 2019.

She lived in the EU, she died in the EU she had political views about the EU which the lefties on here would hate.
She expressed views critical of how Ireland, a member state was run, she expressed views critical of how the EU was run.
She is far more relevant to this board than a country which isn't even a member.
