And, even if you don't live any longer, it'll certainly seem like it.

Adult obesity rate in 2019 (based on measured data) 28%
Adult obesity rate in 2022 (based on self-reported height and weight data) 25.9%
My impression from my "people watching" is that since 2019 there has been a very significant increase in obesity. I would not be surprised if the true obesity rate is at least 35%.
The dietitian at my hospital sent a letter to my GP saying that I was underweight. The letter recorded my BMI as 19.2. Apparently she believes that people should be half-way between the lower figure of 18.5 and the upper figure of 24.9. So ... if I follow her advice I should strive to put on 16 pounds as quickly as possible. A previous dietitian I saw some time ago also told me I was underweight. My BMI was then the same as it is now.
The BMI of Eliud Kipchoge, the current marathon world record holder, is 18.6
Cancer charities say that the closer one's BMI is to 18.5 the lower is one's risk of getting cancer.
It appears that dietitians (at my hospital at least) are encouraging the healthiest members of the population to increase their dietary intake so that they put on weight

Unless you want feel the wrath of virtuous lefties who insist obese is beautiful, even though we all know it's a killer.

yes - you might even lose your bank account.. Apparently that's more common than anyone knew, but hopefully Farage will put that right, which is deliciously ironic when you consider he is the person the establishment hate more than anyone.

I think the Banking sector are going to start hating the silly woman at NatWest for stirring this up - another 4 banks today being investigated by the Treasury..

I lift weights and the last time I saw my six pack I still had a BMI of 24. BMI is actually a terrible measure of health. There are plenty of "Skinny fat" people with low bodyweight but relatively high body fat. Conversely, there are plenty of strength athletes with high BMI yet low body fat.

Nigel has a track record of keeping the establishment honest. No wonder they hate him.

I think the Banking sector are going to start hating the silly woman at NatWest for stirring this up - another 4 banks today being investigated by the Treasury.. LOL! It was an incredibly stupid move on her part. I doubt that any bank is totally clean and to court any kind of unwarranted attention in their position is an act of lunacy. Especially in the case of Coutts whose customers, perhaps more than any others, value discretion and confidentiality and really won't appreciate having the spotlight turned on them. Frankly, I'm surprised that that incompetent woman is still in post.

It's a very good rule of thumb for most people. Someone like yourself - ie someone actively pursuing muscle / strength / fitness and knew they had a lot muscle - would not use it as a guide anyway. However, someone who isn't very muscular (ie isn't an athlete) can get a good idea if they are overweight and by how much by using it. You are correct on a point though - just because you aren't overweight, doesn't mean you are healthy

Absolutely, they will all be quietly seething at Dame Alison Rose. I said from the start they will regret picking on Farage, and I'll be very surprised if Dame Alison Rose is not forced to resign.
