LOL!!! Didn't the Brexit Party famously have an IRA sympathiser and a gay cure lunatic in its ranks? You would be hard put to find a bigger bunch of misfits. I'm warming to Khan with his disastrous ULEZ policy, he could single handed stop Labour from winning the next general election ......LOL keep up the good work Khan
ULEZ: Sir Keir Starmer told to 'get off the fence' and challenge Sadiq Khan after court victory
Good man! Anyone who makes a Labour/Lib Dem coalition more likely gets my support too.

There were people who opposed the emancipation of slaves
There were people who opposed giving women the vote
There were people who opposed decriminalizing homosexuality
There were those who opposed The Clean Air Act
And today there are people who oppose ULEZ, same type of people, just a different time in history, sadly there have always been those that oppose progress or reform that makes society a better place.
Khan is correct, it IS VERY MUCH underestimated as to how many people support the extention, and its not widely reported that it will NOT AFFECT THE MAJORITY of road users.
London is one of the worlds great conurbations, with 14 Million people in, or very close to it; There are 2,6 Million cars registered in London, MOST pass the particle test.
With massive improvements in public transport, more routes, faster services, more frequent services, there is no excuse to oppose ULEZ. Most vans belong to small businesses, mainly self employed people, most will not pay the charges, but surely with the help available, through scrappage and grants, whats the problem. ?
If the recent By-election is a guide, then it means that although Labour WILL take some seats from the Conservatives, they may not take as many. In the heartlands of central London, it wont make any difference.

People are not against the principle of ULEZ, they are against the lack of support for people (and businesses) who cannot afford to change vehicles. Also, you cannot take this measure in isolation. Speed cameras, camera vans, yellow box cameras, speed awareness courses, over zealous parking wardens, congestion charge etc all add to the feeling that the motorist is a cash cow for the government and councils. They have had to put the Greater Manchester Clean Air Scheme on hold because business rightly asked how exactly would they replace thousands of trucks / vans with virtually no financial support, and it was impossible anyway because of the lead times of new vehicles.

It's going to put all sorts of business out of business, from taxi drivers, to pub/cafe owners, shops... in fact you name it they will suffer, before long London will have tumbleweed rolling down the deserted streets.

Most cars have catalytic converters. ULEZs aren't needed.

JSO. They are hideously white. We need to talk about why this woke mob goes under the radar where 'diversity' is concerned, and how the privileged-white-chattering-class get away with excluding minorities.
