In 1965, at the 20th session of the United Nations General Assembly, the Fourth Committee determined that, in all languages other than Spanish, all UN documentation would designate the territory as the Falkland Islands. As usual, you're nearly 60 years behind the times...: 20 June 2023 Special Committee on Decolonization Adopts Resolution Requesting Negotiations Resume to Resolve Falkland Islands (Malvinas) Question
The Special Committee on the Situation with regard to the Implementation of the Declaration on the Granting of Independence to Colonial Countries and Peoples today adopted once again a resolution requesting the Governments of Argentina and the United Kingdom to consolidate the current process of dialogue and cooperation through the resumption of negotiations to swiftly find a peaceful solution to the sovereignty dispute relating to the question of the Falkland Islands (Malvinas).
The UK's position remains the same, not forgetting Argentina invaded the islands with violence to begin a war they lost: The UK maintains this right is enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations and in article 1 of the two international covenants on human rights. Therefore, the UK maintains that “no dialogue on sovereignty [is] possible unless the Islanders so wished”. The UK states that its relationship with its overseas territories is a “modern one based on partnership”. The territories are “internally self-governing”, subject only to the UK retaining powers to “enable it to carry out its obligations under international law”.lordslibrary.parliament.uk/sovereignty-since-the-ceasefire-the-falklands-40-years-on/#:~:text=The%20Falklands%20are%20an%20overseas,Falkland%20Islands%20in%20April%201982.

The Torys have just breached the UN's Refugee convention. Now it's everyone else's turn to breach a UN charter. It's only fair.

Doesn't change the fact that some who are citing UN charters in support of territorial rights re Argentina are happy to ignore other UN charters and conventions, Bubs.

Rishi Sunak has criticised the EU for a "regrettable choice of words" after it appeared to endorse the Argentine name for the Falkland Islands. The prime minister's official spokesman said his view was it would have been "entirely unacceptable for the EU to question the Falkland Islanders' right to decide their own future". A diplomatic row risked breaking out after the EU referred to the disputed territory as Islas Malvinas in a declaration that was agreed at a recent summit. news.sky.com/story/regrettable-choice-of-words-eu-backs-down-after-calling-falklands-by-argentine-name-pm-12924158It's a nothing burger. They do this on quiet news days. The EU has not done anything bad to us. The EU is staying out of it and not taking a view. It's the sound of stupid News blondes flapping.

Just typical of a self-loathing Brit, who sides with the EU and now Argentina's claims over the Falklands. Would you have swung this extreme had you gotten your own way in 2016. I think not. It's not just the EU who are bitter, it's people like you - see the Farage thread for further confirmation of your petty, immature bitterness.

I side with international law. International law makes the Islands British. Neither I nor the EU has said otherwise. Unlike you gammons, we respect international law. Glad you enjoyed my contributions to the Farage thread. Gotta love the manfrog!

Very glad to be out of the EU.
As for Argentina, the socialists there bankrupted them and their military is in ruins.

Interesting to see supposed ex-military making fun of killing and destruction..… "Interesting to see supposed ex-military making fun of killing and destruction" What's that supposed to mean? Can you imagine the killing and destruction if the Belgrano with her 6 & 10 inch guns and torpedo tubes had been allowed to get within range of the Falklands? No of course you cant and that's because you're a clueless fuckin civvy who cant see further then the end of your nose.

I don't agree with the glee displayed at the death of sailors on a ship that was outside the "exclusion zone" and sailing away towards port. You obviously see no problem.
Just reinforces my opinion that Britain's military and Police have problems with recruiting sufficiently normal people, who are not so jingoistic and malleable to be ultimately brainwashed into believing they're superior that normal respect for others doesn't apply to them...
