I think an Express reader's poll declaring Mr Farage the winner has about as much validity as the YouGov poll naming Mr Corbyn as most popular Labour Leader.
Both are, by their nature, self-selecting votes, and very easily manipulated by a relatively small number of people alerted by social media.
Remember when the BBC Today programme were put in the position (after holding a phone in vote) of naming Kamal Ataturk as "Greatest Person of the Millennium"?

Nope can't say I do remember that because as a rule I don't take much notice of polls, purely political propaganda of one type or another, but on this occasion it popped up on my feed so I thought I would share my amusement.

Glad you were amused Sheepy.
In other news a group of Accrington Stanley supporters recently proclaimed that the greatest team the world has ever seen was ....................................... Wait for it ....................................... Can you guess ....................................... Blimey it was Accrington Stanley.
Who'd have thunk it??

In 1999,the BBC ran a poll to find "The Greatest 100 Britons".
When I finally saw the breakdown of who'd made the list, and the (top secret) voting numbers, I was kicking myself.
At the time, I was working on a project about an unknown Derby artist who was the inventor of a revolutionary - and highly effective - form of camouflage.
If only I'd got 8 friends to cast their vote for Ernest Townsend, we'd have made to list - and all the free publicity that came with it.

Well as long as it wasn't that boring twat Jeremy Vine who speaks to everyone and repeats himself as though everyone is thick but him, he is like the woke version of Jeremy Kyle.

Remember when the BBC Today programme were put in the position (after holding a phone in vote) of naming Kamal Ataturk as "Greatest Person of the Millennium"? Monty Python fans and the Turkish Popular Front call bombed the survey.
