I was taught using metric (or "sensible"..) measurements from infant school. I suspect it's only going to be pretty elderly folk - and there'll be less every year - and Americans who hanker for pounds, ounces, and pints.
As for whatever Mr Rees-Mogg pronounces, I wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him.
Which is probably about half a barleycorn.

There is no plans to scrap metric measurements in the article afaik. If people want to sell their products in pounds and ounces , why shouldn’t they?

I was drinking pints last night.
Nothing wrong with having dual systems in greengrocers or butchers shops. A pound of minced beef is easier to ask for than 0.45 kilos.
