As far as I'm aware France is an EU state, is it not? But it's got nothing to do with the EU. France is also a part of the World, is it not? The presumption against redundancy dictates that matters that don't specifically refer to EU matters belong in that area. And Gnome's thread related to Brexit, did it not? You say that but "Petty" criminality has a significant effect on the quality of life of many people. I'd have used stingers on the tyres and then upon conviction, locked the little shit in a strait jacket and leg restraints for five years. Make an example of bastards like that without killing em. Make them genuinely fear prison. With respect, you've no idea what you'd have done because you have no idea why the police shot him. Maybe justified, maybe not. We don't know. |

I'm making the point that the mods have never taken a pedantic view of what belongs here. Gnome's thread had just as much relevance, even more relevance, to the EU board than the threads I've highlighted, yet his thread was removed. |

Make them genuinely fear prison. sadly some sharp lawyer in a posh suit will be allowed to claim money from the state for protesting that treatment designed to make prison a place to avoid would be cruel punishment under some regukation they just had brought in so as to make money from it. |
