I may not have written their manifesto but I am very aware of AfD. I am also aware that parties like AfD thrive when majorities are ignored. The EU are slowly writing their own eulogy, you will of course rubbish this, to be expected. The imminent death of the EU has been greatly exaggerated. Countries are still queuing up to join. In the 7 years since we shot ourselves in the foot no one else has asked to leave. It's as healthy as ever. The only reason other EU states have not left the bloc is because they are not allowed referendums. Monte, anyone who thinks the EU is popular in Europe is not paying attention. As I have said many times before, the EU was imposed, it survives in spite of democracy, not because of it.

The Dutch with their BBB party might be the first challenge if they are not allowed to back track and reinstall their farms then they will go for a referendum on the EU, IMO. Of course they still need to win.

Looks like patience with migrants is wearing off across Europe - the election of far parties seems to show that the people have had enough.

Yet another thread that has nothing to do with the EU. Note that Vinny was happy to contribute to it, though, while simultaneously complaining that a thread started by another poster didn't belong in this part of the board.

Well if normal parties won't deal with the problems, abnormal parties will get in. Like the AfD party in Germany, whose leader you were openly admiring here not so long ago? From Wiki: Many parts of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) support Russia, its foreign policy, and its allies. For example AfD members and activists were listed as keeping close ties with Russian politicians and receiving financial benefits in an OCCRP investigation of Russia's International Agency for Current Policy.[1]
