Monte, this is what I mean by Coutts pretending to be oh so virtuous. History of Coutts - www.coutts.com/about/history.html - you will notice that Coutts neglect to mention that in 1761 Thomas Coutts owned many slaves on his tobacco plantation in Virginia. Yet Coutts proudly champion the power of pride and cancel people who's political views they disagree with. Coutts bank The Strand London. Virtue signalling wankers.

The thing is Walter, Coutts are trying to hide their links to slavery while pretending to be oh so virtuous. What is virtuous about closing an account because it has insufficient funds? It did for years. And previously that wasn't a problem.

Monte, we've been through this. Notwithstanding the fact that Farage is estimated to be worth about £4 million, BBC business editor Simon Jack said dozens of Coutts customers had contacted him to say they had insufficient funds but the bank has not closed their accounts. Farage thanked him for making this public knowledge. It's quite clear he is being picked on because someone doesn't like his politics and as I've said previously, I'm sure Coutts will now be regretting picking on Farage. Put down the spoon Red. It's time to stop swallowing every bit of bullshit you are being peddled. Are you suggesting Simon Jack is lying? In response to Coutts closing Farage's account/s at least three ministers including the chancellor have said banks should not close peoples accounts for no apparent reason, the treasury have asked the government to legislate to stop banks closing the accounts of people who's political views they disagree with, and a finance lawyer on GB News said at the very least Coutts have acted very unprofessionally and they may have acted illegally, no doubt time will tell. One thing is for sure, thanks to all this negative publicity Coutts will be regretting picking on Farage and it would be very interesting to know what's going on behind the scenes.

Of COURSE Coutts are linked to SLAVERY! They've been the bank of the royals and the aristocracy for so long it'd be astonishing if they HADN'T looked after the profits from the trade, at some point. The thing is Walter, Coutts are trying to hide their links to slavery while pretending to be oh so virtuous. A bit like how the Labour left and The Guardian (also has links to slavery) suck up to the corporate fascists whilst crapping all over the working classes in England.

It's minority appeasing on steroids.

He's probably just upset. This can only get worse for the Labour Left. All of their virtue signalling will go back to this. The extreme corruption is being exposed.

And there is more.
Jeremy Hunt was among politicians denied a bank account because of the “completely disproportionate” application of money laundering rules, The Telegraph can reveal.
The Chancellor has told colleagues that he was turned down for an account by Monzo, citing the anti-money laundering regulations that parliamentarians have said are resulting in their own bank accounts, and those of their children, being closed.
The financial regulator was accused of being “asleep at the wheel”.
It can also be revealed that a string of peers, including Lord Clarke of Nottingham, one of Mr Hunt’s predecessors as chancellor, have had their credit cards cancelled because of what they believe to be a zealous application of the rules by American Express.

PS.
Banks have “wrongly” closed customer bank accounts in hundreds of cases, figures suggest.
Banks have the power to close accounts quickly and without reason to tackle fraud and money laundering under “derisking” regulations. Close to 1,400 people complained about such bank account closures in 2022-23, according to figures from the Financial Ombudsman Service.
One in four complaints were upheld, the arbiter of financial disputes said. It has raised fresh concerns about the actions of banks who have been accused of “blacklisting” customers who hold certain views.
It comes after a number of after the leading Brexiteer Nigel Farage revealed his account had been closed by his bank. A vicar was also dropped as a customer after criticising his lender’s stance on LBGTQ+.
Last week the Treasury was understood to have warned lenders not to close accounts because they disagree with customers’ opinions.

In my opinion a warning is not good enough, legislation is needed to stop banks going woke and signing up to Stonewall.

A bit like how the Labour left and The Guardian (also has links to slavery) suck up to the corporate fascists whilst crapping all over the working classes in England. It would be surprising to find any British trading concern with roots back to the 1800's or before that didn't profit in some way from slavery. Even plenty of country clergymen and local landowners probably had a few slaves as "stock" for their income and pension plans.
Generally, slave owning in Britain up to the early 1800's was no more controversial than, say, smoking in the 1930's. But as we're often told: "those were different times"...
