LOL this is brilliant. The bank who are cancelling people for not being politically correct and are also sponsoring Pride, have extensive links to the slave trade. Apparently someone has been doing a bit of digging and it transpires that in 1761 Thomas Coutts owned many slaves on his tobacco plantation in Virginia, he also owned house slaves. I wonder, does the CEO of Coutts now regret attempting to cancel Farage, and will he offer a simpering apology for the banks links to slavery? Hahaaaaaaaaaaaaa wankers should think before going woke. A history of Coutts bank - www.coutts.com/about/history.html - and oddly enough, not a word about slavery lol.

I worked for NatWest for 5 years, which now actually owns Coutts, I believe. If Coutts ever phoned us, or we them, they could be the snottiest people on the planet. They reckoned they were so much better than us plebs further down the food chain. I reckon all this will damage their business. Might be another case of go woke go broke. I would laugh till it hurts.

Coutts will already be regretting cancelling Farage's bank account/s, and I hope it gets worse for them. This afternoon a GB News reporter stood outside Coutts bank and asked wealthy people who were going in and out if they were aware of Coutts links to slavery. I imagine the top floor were cringing lol.

This really has been a PR disaster for Coutts - not as bad as the Bud Light fiasco but getting close. Given the big bucks these execs are paid how can they be so useless..

Of COURSE Coutts are linked to SLAVERY!
They've been the bank of the royals and the aristocracy for so long it'd be astonishing if they HADN'T looked after the profits from the trade, at some point.

The thing is Walter, Coutts are trying to hide their links to slavery while pretending to be oh so virtuous.

That's a commercial decision. Have you started a go fund me for poor old Nige yet Red? So he can get back in the millionaires club.

Notwithstanding the fact that Farage is estimated to be worth about £4 million, BBC business editor Simon Jack said dozens of Coutts customers had contacted him to say they had insufficient funds but the bank has not closed their accounts. Farage thanked him for making this public knowledge. It's quite clear he is being picked on because someone doesn't like his politics and as I've said previously, I'm sure Coutts will now be regretting picking on Farage.

The slave traders themselves did not live there though, but over in Pilton where there are many large houses due to it being a very profitable industry.
