Of course no one is obliged to claim asylum. No one has claimed any such thing. It’s a really weird suggestion.
People who do wish to claim asylum are under no obligation to claim that asylum in the first safe country. It’s the law.
If someone arrives in country A and claims asylum there, country A is obliged to consider that claim unless a) another country (B) is willing to consider the claim b) country A is confident that B will consider the claim fairly and is a safe country.
Country A cannot force Country B to take responsibility for the claim, it is B’s choice. If A cannot find a safe country willing to hear the claim, country A is obliged to do so.
That is the law whether people like it or not.
It is valid to question whether it should be the law. That is opinion. That the law is currently what it is is fact.

Like i said several times - nobody is obliged to apply for asylum Let me explain it again. As far as i know there is no obligation to claim, or apply for, asylum in any country. This is your notion, not mine. However, if you are in a safe country (i.e. you have moved away from the danger) nobody else is then obliged to take you in. The point of asylum system is to allow people to flee from danger, not to flee from safety.

Do you consider Ukrainians fleeing the war to be refugees if they have travelled via Poland (which will be the case most of the time)? What about Jewish refugees from Nazi Germany who travelled to the US via Liverpool?

They are fleeing war and hopefully you will never know what that's like. However, there's a massive difference between a refugee and the criminal scum who this poxy government continue to allow into this country from France.

The point i'm making is about obligation. The US was not obliged to take on all claims from Liverpool

I only wanted to establish that you recognise that passing through a safe country doesn't disqualify from refugee status. Job done.

That's right, according to legislation penned in 1951 when the world was a very different place.

Read it again. It's fact not opinion. EUphiles and Blairites will support everything to undermine this country, and we know for a fact that they will support people being debanked and unpersonned as a means of terrorising people into silence. It was the Islamists who said "we will use your system against you".
So now it's the Islamists? 🤣

Now you are saying that the asylum seekers from France are 'criminal scum' do you have evidence to support this? It is a fact that 76% of asylum seekers have a valid claim and are granted refugee status or other protected status.

Yes, we've moved on so has the topic did you not notice? I suspect some people will never move on. I know some people are still moaning about multiculturalism that happened 30 years ago.

That's right, according to legislation penned in 1951 when the world was a very different place. Unfortunately not very different. There are still wars going on in many rations, famine drought, floods persecution.
