I see even the BBC has commented on this. Trevor Noah, an American Leftie, has claimed that the appointment of Sunak has caused a lot of racist alarm among the British population. He said that the reaction was basically that the country would be overrun by Indians - to which his reaction was "So what?".
The thing is that there has been very little racist comment along those lines at all. He doesn't understand this country at all. This country is not overtly racist, so most people have welcomed Sunak as PM. I'm not quite sure why because I don't think the fact that most of the highest political positions are filled by BME MPs is anything to be proud of - any more than, if they were all white, that would be anything to be ashamed of.
I also reject his casual attitude to the country being overrun by Indians/Asians. The culture of a country is dependent on the people. I think England is one of the best countries in the world to live in - and I've lived in a few. That's because of the people. But there are already large areas that have been taken over by Asians/blacks. If you walk through Leicester you could almost be in Pakistan - and that's not good. And I don't want England to end up like India either. I doubt that many people who've been to India would want England to end up like that either.
The problem is that the Lefties hate the UK so much that they're determined to destroy it. They hate Boris basically because he's white. They would never attack Sunak in the way that they attack Boris because he's Indian. For some reason we have developed a kind of inverted racial prejudice that hates "Britishness" and wants to destroy it. And the best way to destroy it is to keep electing ethnic politicians. Sorry, but it's a fact. So I'm not celebrating Sunak being PM - he will never get my vote. And if that's "racist", tough.

Agreed, but I think it's a bit naive to think that the "heritage" of the PM (in this case Indian) is irrelevant. We've made this mistake before when Blair invited vast numbers of people from the Subcontinent into the UK (principally England) in order to "rub the noises of the Right in diversity". The thinking was that the original immigrants may have trouble adjusting and tend to live in closed communities but that the second and third generations will be fully integrated and will adopt our own culture. In fact what happened was exactly the opposite. The second and third generations are far more likely to react against British culture than their parents. The extremists are far more likely to come from the second and third generations than the immigrant population. So the problem gradually gets worse. As for Sunak he will be judged by what he does. His first challenge will be the trade deal with India. If we end up agreeing to an influx of Indian immigrants (as the price for a trade deal) there will be a fierce backlash against Sunak. We didn't leave the EU's free movement only to replace it with Indian immigrants. We don't want to import religious and sectarian wars from the Subcontinent - it's bad enough already.

"We didn't leave the EU's free movement only to replace it with Indian immigrants. "
But that's exactly what's happening already.
The latest (June 2022) official statistics show that immigration from India has more than doubled compared to its pre-Covid (2019) levels.

Presumably that's skilled immigrants - i.e. people who we need to fill specific jobs? I hope so because that's what the promise was on immigration policy after we leave the EU. It's still worrying though. I'm more worried by the possibility that Sunak will do a deal that allows visa for unskilled workers.

The list of 'skilled' occupations for which sponsors can bring in overseas workers includes such highly-skilled job titles as disk-jockey, take-away manager, cook and kennel-maid. The minimum wage threshold is now £20.6K, far below even the current average wage of £31.2K.

The Indian and Chinese are good workers, they generally own a business and pay taxes, how many Indian and Chinese do you see causing trouble, hanging on street corners, sitting in pubs, engaging in criminal activity, they keep their heads down and get on with it, they don't bother anyone, and they are not nuisance neighbours.

What kids, I've not noticed Indian or Chinese kids running wild, or maybe that depends on what part of the country you live, I can't say I've seen them on tv rioting and looting like BLM.

I think his comments typify the race-baiting doctrine found in left wing circles.

Yep. If a white person had said similar about an Asian country they'd have been instantly branded a racist.

I have called someone out for overt racism here, so with that in mind. I lived in Birmingham for thirty years. The centre of it is entirely black, there are no go areas for whites, some neighbourhoods have no whites at all. Policing in those areas doesnt happen. Drugs, crime, etc is rife. Large areas are like cities in asia.
Arriving at New street by train, you are greeted by recordings played on loud speaker of the Koran, on the main concourse. That is my guess, it was in arabic or whatever, so i dont know. Whether that still happens or not i dont know, ive been away six years. The preaching i mean.
Just saying. England?, not even close.
