It has been noted that of all the people, MP's and ministers past & present who have voiced support for Farage over the past week or so, Starmer was not one of them. I suspect he will now be regretting that. PS, Lord Moylan (Tory peer) has said the apology issued by NatWest is no apology and probably makes things worse for the bank.

I suspect he will now be regretting that. I suspect that we've seen nothing of Starmers unerring ability to pick the wrong option every time.
God help us if the dullards elect the prat.

Blimey do you expect me to be here 24/7……
Eventually the facts may emerge as to exactly why this account was closed. You seem to think it is entirely because of his political beliefs. That isn’t what the Nat West chief has said. Perhaps we will find out the truth, perhaps we will not. Time will tell.
From what I have seen of the propsed rule changes, they feel sensible.

I would have thought the fact that a bank had made a public apology was a bit of a clue as to where the blame lies.

I think you need to read what the apology actually said.
Read beyond the headlines.

Farage the Victorious is on GB News at 7pm, I bet my deeds he's grinning like a Cheshire cat and rightly so, tune in on radio, YouTube or Freeview channel 236.

Good What in your opinion does it say? No idea who lord moylan is by the way? It apologises for "Deeply inappropriate comments" Dappy. And that the bank's policy is not to discriminate on the basis of political beliefs.
Facts, Dappy. Facts.
Just like we told you, Dappy.

It seems a decent enough apology to me. However, I don't think that an apology is sufficient. I think that this sufficiently serious that it warrants a sufficiently serious punishment.
And I do mean punishment.

That’s right. There were some inappropriate comments on his file.
What the apology did not say was that the account was closed because of his political beliefs.
The facts we await is to understand why that decision was made and why it was made now. Until this row blew up he was much lower profile than he was say five years ago. So if in whole or in part because of his beliefs, why now not then?
By the way I said I think on page 1 of this thread that IF the account was closed because of his beliefs, that would be outrageous. We wait to find out if it was.

I have read the apology in full, which was described by Lord Moylan as no apology at all and rather makes things worse for the bank. Just read it. They appear to have apologised for inappropriate comments they made and re-iterated that they do not close accounts for political beliefs. So we still don't know why they closed his account.
