Russians will defeat Putin eventually. Putin can't beat NATO and throwing civilians on the fire is stoking revolution. President Putin is already beating Nato. You will see more evidence of this in the coming weeks as they have a very large army which according to what I hear are just getting into position. We're talking about 650 000. Most of Ukraine's army is smashed to pieces. Washington looks like it wont back down, so this forces Russia to gain control of all of Ukraine. Their alternative is pretty much just take the Eastern half up to the Dnieper River, but if they do this and Washington is still feeding the other half with missiles they are going to have to wipe out the entire regime and take control of the nation, something I hear President Putin would prefer not to do.
You could say, well OK so Nato's army is huge, but think about it. Look at the political situation in Germany and similar. This is impossible politically. OK they could say push it through if they tried but as soon as body bags started to be returned from the frontline all hell would break loose in the country and the government would be forced out and an anti-war government elected. It only worked in Iraq because the Iraqis were crap military men. With Russia it is in their blood. They are battle-hardened.
Weβre they battle hardened in Afghanistan?

You guess wrong again here Baron. Russia army has been seen for what it is, ill equipped and ill trained. Even the West was surprised at how poor they are. There own private militia refuse to fight alongside them. The soldiers are now untrained conscripts, the people of Russia are openly criticising Putin now despite the threats of 15 to 20 year jail sentences for doing so. The Ukrainian counteroffensive has all but failed now. The last I heard was about 30% of Nato weapons sent for it are now destroyed.

Russia is not fighting NATO - NATO has made a conscious decision to keep out. All Russia has to do is fight Ukraine and at the moment Russia is on the defensive.

Then best you put your hand in your pocket and pay some experts for an opinion rather than expect people on a forum, many of whom you regularly disagree with, to provide you with advice. Most unprofessional. Oh yes, the experts π Its a discussion forum, I know that's not what you do here, but then my question was not directed at you. I'm interested in whether other people on here are finding the current situation unpredictable. Read your OP, you never asked that, you merely made a blanket question. And what II attempt to do here is ask incisive questions, they're the ones that catch you out but it's not difficult and you can't get away with it.

Does it really matter which source? I can't verify any of this information because there isn't a reliable source. I'm just putting it on the level of probably about right. They might have destroyed more, or then again they might have exaggerated when reporting it.
What Britain should do is pack it up. This crap might go on for another 20 years.

Ukraine 'destroys Russian military ammunition depot' in occupied Kherson as plumes of smoke rise from blast in victory for Zelenky's forces
Ukrainian forces said they destroyed a 'significant' ammunition depot in Rykove, a city in the Russian-occupied Kherson.
Shocking footage shows smoke rising on a huge scale, in an area that has already faced devastation after the demolition of the Khakhovka Dam.
Spokesperson for the Odesa military, Serhiy Bratchuk, said: 'Our armed forces dealt a good blow in the morning - and a very loud one - in the village of Rykove, Henichesk district, in the temporarily occupied territory of the Kherson region.
'There was a very significant ammunition depot. It was destroyed.'
There was no immediate comment from Russia on the alleged attack.

So your source isnβt reliable . They may be right or they may be wrong . Is your source a YouTube video?

Putin is losing on two fronts ivan lover baron. Militarily and economically, for every bullet or missile fired, where is he going to get replacements, and if they come from abroad, pay with what? Its a comment on his madness, madness that he doesnt get it,... or more shockingly that hes done anything wrong, like break international law.
Do you baron?, get it? You are now going to trot out why its ok to murder innocent people and children, my madness meter is flashing lights in your direction. Ive got another shock for you, that if Putin withdrew his troops from Ukraine, will the west lift sanctions?
NO.
The foot is on the wind pipe, and it will stay there till that a$$hole is gone, we cant afford to let him carry on.

I hope you're right piglet, but outside the West there are plenty of countries still trading with Russia.

I've seen so many of these kind of reports and nearly every one was either exaggerated or on other occasions simply did not happen. You aught not to believe what you read in the British papers. I get my reports from a selection of foreign media and try and average it out. I mean like for example Indian TV covers it and they are more neutral.

If you think Britain is going to top that then I suppose you could criticise. 2% positive growth in the middle of a war with Nato is not a bad achievement. I don't love the man, but I acknowledge he knows what he is doing.

Nonsense, the Russian army is a shadow of what it once was Putin lives in a world of his own. Russia needs a way out of this though and not being totally humiliated.
