The business logic is explained in this video.
I've seen it coming for a while, but you would not know it if you sources are Western media. What is telling is ASML are now breaking the boycott on seeing chip manufacturing products to China. President Macron went over to see the heads of state of the country they operate from directly after a visit to meet President Xi, where I believe he came back with some good trade deals and the like, but then I think this might have been a case of you scratch my back and i'll scratch yours. France has never been too friendly towards the US and the US screwed them over not just on the subs but a while back on a firm called Alstrom which both France and China have not forgotten about.
Meanwhile the other big EU bigwig country has its own political problems.
Germans know all too well what fascism is all about. In short, the public over there are getting pissed off on two fronts. They do not like fuelling war, and they fear their world leading car industry is about to end up on the scrap heap.
Meanwhile China's CPC have kind of made a course correction. A while back they were rather riled about the EU supporting the war and these sanctions and all, but I think after many of us explained, the true picture is we are forced by the US to do what we do, so no point in punishing us. They have taken the approach of the long game and tried to stay calm with Europe in the hope they can win them over with charm. It includes taking a few hits and not responding. This strategy appears to be paying off now. We are likely to see increased EU-China trade and likely a fair bit of clamping down on American firms who abuse the EU market, i.e. not taking the hit as subservient slaves.
I know there are a number of placemen and placewomen still rapping out the standard lines as if nothing has changed, but according to China this is in the pipeline. The source above is usually pretty accurate and likely comes from China's media reports amongst other sources.
