Starmer sends his thoughts so I hope the telepathy is working for him. Yes I heard him too, my initial thought was, why is Starmer commenting? He isn't the police or security services, he isn't the prime minister or home secretary. What's it got to do with him?

At least Starmer's not throwing out allegations or supposed motives.
I bet that if he said nothing, he'd be criticised for keeping quiet...

We're commenting here because it's a discussion forum, oddly enough. I wonder if Starmer will continue comment if the attacker turns out to be one of the thousands of poor downtrodden refugees from France who Labour want to make it easier to come to this country. I would have thought Starmer would be advised to keep his pro minority pro immigration pro EU mouth shut.

Because we live here that's why we are commenting on these what seems daily events. So, from that, I infer that you reckon the space you inhabit gives you more of a privilege to comment than Starmer.
Personally, I've no worries about people commenting, and if they're leaders of groups or well-known individuals, that possibly makes their comments more interesting.
What does seem incongruous to me is that any of us should complain about others commenting — agree/disagree with what they say — but objecting to them opening their mouths seems to negate the ideals of free speech...

yeah I’ve been on the receiving end of ‘police attempts to establish motive’. First for my daughter’s rape Then about a year later for her neighbour’s rape, murder and attempted incineration in situ and attempted removal of witnesses by fire …. I have certain opinions about the people they sent to talk to me to persuade me to think about tbe crimes the way they wanted me to. And above all to avoid making a fuss. The most printable of those things is they are a fucking disgrace to the literally hundreds of decent officers of both the police snd fire service investigation branch who on being told to find the piece of shit responsible, moved heaven and earth to do so. Whilst I sympathise with the terrible attack on your daughter I will stay on topic i’m just making the point that when the police tell the public ‘they are seeking a motive’ they are more often than not actually trying very hard to persuade relatives to help bullshit us in order to cover up what is blindingly bloody obvious. I have been able to exploit my white privilege to the fullest in seeing operation pigshit - like bullshit, but generated by pigs, in detail up Close and Personal.

i think you should infer that starmer knows if he opens his mouth one of his legion of ambulance chasers will try to bust him for contempt of court being the chancing bastards they are, knowing his celeb status as a self confessed prosecutor of rapists (i still haven’t found a case he was lead brief though) will give weight to the allegation of swaying a jury, whereas no jury on the planet would give what we say here the time of day even if we stated utbunder oath in the witness bix.

This incident is still ongoing within the last 20 odd minutes Armed Police were deployed near the murder scenes and two women have been arrested, the snippets from the media is that the events deaths in the early hours maybe linked
Which bit of the Police do not guess or assume as you are free to do so, they need to prove who did what when how and Why

Earlier the police said they were not treating this as a terrorist incident. They have now shifted their position slightly. Notts police now say they are working alongside counter terrorism officers.

Yes they are as I posted earlier, but so far local Police are leading the investigation The only thing that doesn't quite add up for this being a terrorist attack, is the time of day. 4am is unusual, don't you think. The morons who carry out these attacks usually choose busy times of the day.

I did come across this, inconspicuously embedded in a very long report in the Guardian.
"A witness has told the BBC he saw a young man and young woman being stabbed on Ilkeston Road, close to the junction with Bright Street in Nottingham, at about 4am. The man, who did not give his name, told the broadcaster he heard “awful, bloodcurdling screams” and looked out his window to see a “black guy dressed all in black with a hood and rucksack grappling with some people”.
She was screaming ‘Help!’ I just wish I’d shouted something out of the window to unnerve the assailant. I saw him stab the lad first and then the woman. The lad collapsed in the middle of the road..."

I agree in full a terrorist usually wants a packed place out in the open to do as much damage as they can with a much publicity as possible , IMHO I think the Anti Terrorist may have been asked to do a real in depth background of the persons in custody and those injured, they have access to more confidential sensitive information. If you recall the petrol bombing of the Immigration Holding Centre in Dover, it was only later that is was classed as a terror attack once they have more info on the man who did it
