I would suggest that if one is a senior police officer and such an offence comes to notice then failure to act is more than simple incompetence.
The fact is that she was convicted at court, was subsequently refused leave to appeal (because there were no grounds for appeal) and has now been charged with five further offences relating to the same.
The new charges are: The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said the allegations were that she had failed to notify the details of a credit card account; the credit card number, validation date and expiry date of a credit card held; details of a bank account opened on March 6 2020; details of a debit card issued on June 22 2021; and details of her travel outside the UK between December 11 and 19 2021. All whilst on the sex offenders register. No wonder the public are losing faith in the Met.
Although to be fair to the Met, they wanted to sack her but she was reinstated by a tribunal.
It would seem that the Met are now having another go.
And meanwhile, she's probably still being paid a superintendent's salary.

Indeed. And even while reinstated she still couldn't do her job (or indeed anything like police work) because she's on the sex offenders register and therefore can't pass vetting or a CRB check or indeed anything at all.
Which means that she can't interact with the public or access any police systems.
What she did she do all day, sharpen pencils?
Stupid, stupid tribunal. 🙄

I only say this as when in Banking working on projects I had to chase people and several senior people confided it was manic and they struggled to stay on top of their inbox.

What is her crime? I don't think it is undertaking a sexual offence, I don't think she is protecting sexual abusers. I think it is rather details were sent to her and she did not act. Now if that is the case we are talking incompetence rather than malicious behaviour which is a very different thing. The Criminal Offence she was convicted of at the Old Bailey the Central Criminal Court The court heard Novlett Robyn Williams failed to report her sister for sending the "disturbing" clip. Williams had denied the charge, saying she "zoned out" when she received the video. The jury was told she was one of 17 people to receive the 54-second clip via WhatsApp, and prosecutors had argued there was no way she could have missed its arrival in her inbox However jurors at the Old Bailey accepted Williams did not view the material, however they rejected her claim she was unaware of its presence on her phone. The jury was told she was one of 17 people to receive the 54-second clip via WhatsApp, and prosecutors had argued there was no way she could have missed its arrival in her inbox. She was ordered to carry out 200 hours' community service, as already stated the Met sacked her for gross misconduct, but later reinstated by a Tribunal Not a technicality a Criminal Conviction the video was pornography child sexual abuse The new Charges are un the Sexual Offences Act, she awaits trial on them

The suggestion there is that it was an 18 member WhatsApp group sharing child porn. The argument her sister sent it to her for investigation really failed as it was sent to 16 others. Anyway, she was found guilty!

It still seems dodgy if it is just her WhatsApp messaging, I open or used to open lots of videos, some because of the tone of the speaker I just closed down almost straight away. If someone is alleging a crime they should report it to a police station not send it to an individual via social media even if they are in the police.
It would be interesting to know who the other 17 recipients were and if police staff did they all report it?
Like I suggest something else likely going on here.

It was all well documented at the time.

Who reported it no idea nor their occupations or was it a spin off from a Police Investigation that brought her sister into the frame ? that led to her , yes my thoughts are 17 people with like minds I will leave it at that

Blooody hell, I missed this. Well yes indeed, oh very dear, lol. Novlett Robyn Williams will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on 16 June. I wonder if the trial will be covered however briefly in a suitably sympathetic BBC report.

She opened the credit card account THREE DAYS after being found guilty. Why would she do that? Could someone have been blackmailing her? She obviously needed to engage in some financial transaction(s) without the police getting wind of it ... whatever it was couldn't wait.

Why indeed would she do that?
Sex offenders notification requirements mean that, among other measures, all credit cards held must be registered with the police.
And here she is, obtaining a new (and allegedly unregistered one) just three days after conviction.
Naughty, naughty.
