The same Orwell who supported communism after his experience in Barcelona in 1936? History darling style....LOL....LOL Just some thoughts, Skanky. Here's some more: 'Orwell was recruited to write programmes to be broadcast in India. As A.C Fleay and M.L. Flanders write, ‘All the programmes to India and elsewhere in which Orwell took part or which were scripted by him were contributions to an overall propaganda effort.’ Orwell was aware of this, writing in his defence in a letter to a friend, ‘I consider that I have kept our propaganda slightly less disgusting than it might otherwise have been’. He was in the same position as Winston in 1984, writing, ‘I am regularly alleging in my newsletters that the Japanese are plotting to attack Russia. I don’t believe this to be so’. Winston Smith’s day-to-day experience with the Ministry of Truth can be far more easily compared with Orwell’s employment at the BBC and his wife’s employment in the Censorship Department of the Ministry of Information than anything specific that happened in the Soviet Union, a country he never once set foot in.'

Why, because I'm pro European, so I couldn't vote Reform. My seat is Cov NW, which is a Labour / Tory seat, has traditionally been Labour, but the Tories ran it close in 2019. And you think Reform is interested in the EU, they don't need to be, they know, better than anyone that we left. Face it, the mainstream parties have been failures at least since the war; they're still failures.

Face it, the mainstream parties have been failures at least since the war; they're still failures. And I have a lot of sympathy with that view (although I wasn't alive in the war!) hence my earlier reply to Jonksy. My natural politics lie somewhere in the LibDems / Greens arena.

Life would be boring if we were all the same, but what are the policies of the Lib Dems? And as for the Greens... Aren't they the ones who wanted sheep to roam around Brighton ?

And the EU are hell bent on forcing people into fuel poverty, or net zero if you prefer. Bound to make people even more resentful of the EU. I can't wait until the EUSSR goes up its own undemocratic rectum mate. But of course it will be everyone else's fault and not the EUSSR's by the crying remnants. I don't think it will. As the EU becomes more unpopular I think the unelected presidents and commissioners will dig in and make it more and more difficult for anyone to remove them or their imposed union.

Your suggestion ignores the fact that the EU parliament has the last word on changes. As just another Outer you think up nonsense about the EU in order to denigrate it, only to be expected I guess.
