Most people think its insulting and I'm sure that's the intention here. You don't speak for most people, Zany. Indeed, all evidence points to the contrary.
If you did, you'd know that most people don't think that Golliwogs are racist. Only a handful of fauxfended woker sheep think otherwise. They're the only ones triggered by the sight of a Golliwog, which is probably why Jonksy has one.
Indeed, I considered using one myself - for the exact same reason. But now Jonksy's beat me to it.

So, you're totally OK with the trolling, the goading, the personal abuse and the name calling, but you're going to ban anyone who responds? Really? As I keep saying - if anyone has a problem with a post then report it. The abuse and name calling seems to be very much a 2-way street between some posters to the extent that they revel in it - if someone else has a problem with anything aimed that them report it to the mods. Spamming by just posting asterisks is just taking up bandwidth and contributes nothing. Agree, just look at andrew abusing jonksy. |

Caricatures are normally insulting, I have seen Boris caricatured as a pig. Trump as a big baby. All are insulting but accepted as a freedom to express oneself and the offended party, if they are offended, just have to suck it up. Just as old people have to suck up caricatures with sticks, hearing aids and grumpy expressions. I am really not sure why some groups can be caricatured and others complain and the world bends over backwards to accede to their wishes. Any ideas? |

In general terms if people were not offended on behalf of others then in general we probably would not have any problem. I can recall Russ Abbott strutting around in his See you Jimmie oversized kilt and Tam o' Shanter putting on a ridiculous Scottish accent. I was not offended despite the fact he was taking the Mickey (so to speak) out of Scotsmen. The world is now full of either a plethora of thin skinned people or a host of cynical chancers seeing offense everywhere as a professional calling. |

Sorry but I get a bit tired of people posting complaints in threads about the standard of posts that nobody could be bothered to report in the first place. You must know people don't like to report things, even more so when the result is no change. Anyway, you see it for yourself daily, its what the people want. They don't want exchange of researched ideas or a learning process. They want to hurl the funniest insults. Blimey Reds even asking for less rules than the current bun fight. People think I'm intractable but I recognise I'm the minority and that this is what they want. My fear is they will push the boundaries of what's acceptable (as they have no concept of that) until Pro-boards writes to Tinculin warning him he's legally responsible for the site and he will close it down. When I spoke sarcastically about parasites killing themselves I was only half joking. |
