..and in 2016 roughly 75% of the UK Parliament were pro EU.. ..and then democracy intervened.  |

Broadly speaking, 75% of members of Swedens Parliament are pro EU HOWEVER, many statisticts are now out of date, because since the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the general population of both Sweden and Finland have become more pro EU AND pro NATO. I mean who in their right minds would ever believe the shite you find in The Daily Mail ? The way to find out is to hold a referendum. If Sweden democratically expresses a wish to stay in the EU, that is its sovereign right. If it wishes to leave the EU, they should be allowed to. Simple, hold a vote and find out what they want. |

Sweden DID have a referendum, on the question of whether Sweden should join the EU in 1994, and the electorate voted YES to joining the European Union.
The Swedish Democrats are a right wing / populist party opposed to EU membership, and at the last general election they won 73 seats in the 349 seat Parliament, with the governing Social Democrats won 107 seats.
Of the nine different political parties sitting in Swedens Parliament, only the Swedish Democrats propose leaving the EU. Which means that 80% of the electorate DID NOT vote for anti EU parties.
As for immigration to Sweden from outside the EU, that is solely a matter for the Swedish government and NOT anything to do with the European Union, which makes this comment from Fairsociety ...
