Progressive Change NL has outlined their their vision for North Lanarkshire Council with each member sharing their personal commitment to serving their community but without the constraints of traditional political party politics. The new party say they believe the current, local party-political system is "broken" and "does not serve the people well enough". According to the members, the party is set to introduce policies which promote "positive change" in areas such as education, healthcare, social justice, the economy, and the environment.

This might lead to an opportunity for Labour, hope not let's wait and see.

Salmond comes across as the more affable face of separation, but he was the one that started the anti Westminster (English) movement, agreed that Sturgeon is a vile weegie pikey horse thief that has caused devastation in Scotland, but to her credit she hasn't moved independence forward by one inch. Remember that Salmond has a certain, er, reputation and isn't quite such a nice guy as he pretends. The Ali BaBa party doesn't seem to be gaining ground, the SNP voters will most likely go to Labour rather than to Salmond.

Starmer's hopes in Scotland could have hit a brick wall because of his total Brexit acceptance and his support for the Tories stance on immigration. Scotland voted massively to stay in the EU so many voters will think twice about supporting a right wing Unionist and pro-Brexit party. According to the polls the SNP is still in front for both Westminster & Holyrood elections. Plenty time to get their house in order. What interests me with this drop in SNP support is that Independence support is still hovering around the 50% mark - the latest Ipsos poll had 53% backing for Independence. I think you'll see a drift back when people realise how Tory the Red Tories have become. Playing to the anti-EU parts of England to try to regain lost support will will not have a good outcome in pro EU Scotland It has been suggested that, as with 2017, many SNP supporters will simply not vote rather than support a Unionist party.

Moray, anyone who thinks Starmer has accepted Brexit is not paying attention. Starmer has said if Labour win next years general election he will reopen Brexit talks and secure a closer relationship with the EU. And what on earth do you mean by his total support for the Tories stance on immigration? Under this Tory government immigration has never been so high. Do I assume you disagree with this? It certainly sounds like it.

Dunno about that Moray.
The Ipsos poll was a bit of an outlier. The average for last 5 polls made in the last two months is 43.6% for independence and 47.2% for maintaining the union. I don't know where the SNP vote is going, but it is not to Alba.
Anyway, it is nice to see you back and I dare say that Jaydee is happily cutting capers under the watchful eye of his keepers at the Royal Edinburgh Hospital, but where is Tommy ?

The SNP's former Westminster leader Ian Blackford has become the latest senior to announce he will be stepping down at the next general election.
His departure comes with the SNP still in disarray after the resignation of Nicola Sturgeon and beginning of a police investigation.
Mr Blackford issued a 663 word statement but did not give a reason for going.
