So if remainers dont believe and trust the polling that suggests there is a majority in favour of rejoining then perhaps the polls should be treated with a measure of circumspect? No. Why would you base your opinion on your own assumption that Remainers do not trust the polling? Well I'm not sure what they gain from refusing to support a policy that you claim has overwhelming support from the public - rather odd stance for a political party that aspires to government.

It's probably because they believe that staying out of the EU is still the better option. Similar to how it was when there was clearly a substantial public support for a second referendum but the Tories dismissed it. What policy are we talking about here? My argument -- which is a reiteration of a particular poll's result -- is that that sixty two out of a hundred leave voters regret having voted to leave the EU. It's a poll about the current sentiment and mood of the electorate with reference to their previous decision.
