THERE SHOULD NEVER BE RAW SEWAGE IN A MODERN CCOUNTRY. It should be treated either on the property via septic tanks or in small communities. As per EU directives. I dont give a toss about where victoria's turds went. I quite agree, and please don't shout, shouting is so continental. By the way, are you aware of the sewage discharges in the EU? A rhetorical question, of course you are.

Ah bless. If Kim's life depended on her being able to spell, she'd be long dead, poor thing.
It's a good job she's got nothing to fear.

Where? Got a link to cases of this drinking water regulation being ignored? Will you stop extracting parts of my post for your benefit?? Read the OP again. It refers to lakes, rivers and other watercourses. One more dishonest response to the OP. If the UK had followed the directive and stopped paying out to private foreign shareholders, your water bills which should have gone to years of repairs and will now once again go to repairs via higher bills, the UK would be 25 years into the renewal of Victoria's sewage by the obeyance of the EU directive. So much for UK sovereignty. Sorry - you posted a link to a Directive about the quality of water intended for human consumption. So I, somewhat naively I know, assumed that you were talking about water for human consumption being contaminated. If you are talking about dumping sewage then the UK is no different to France or any other European country.

In Paris, I lived on an island in the middle of the Seine, and it was lovely. (Poor, with a high level of social housing, and all of the "deprivation" markers fully triggered, but lively, and full of wonderful people..) Of course, L'Ile St Denis is some way north of where the sewage is pumped in. Anglers on the island would catch all manner of fish. I probably wouldn't want to eat anything caught west of the Pont Neuf..

Another thread starter by Kim that makes no link to the UK and makes her look like an angry British immigrant living in France.
There is nothing coherent about your arguments as demonstrated by the fact the UK and EU will review the TCA, and what this means for EV automobiles.
Newsflash angry Kim: The UK doesn't have to abide by EU "directives" anymore.
At least make a relevant argument and link your anger to it otherwise this is just more of your angry mouth foaming that we're accustomed to.

I wasnt referring to a capital city. I was rwferring to the recent press reportd about the raw sewage being poured into rivers and streams all over the country. However at least one of the citi4s under discussion is doing something about it and the people of France wont be paying for it AGAIN for 100 years

... Anyway you are now sovereign and ignored EU directive. ... What has this issue got to do with sovereignty? Britain, like other Member States, didn't comply with EU directives on water purity. Such directives can be originated in the Berlaymont or in Whitehall, and either enforced or ignored by British authorities. There's nothing here to suggest that either Whitehall or the Berlaymont are more competent at devising such policies, so it has nothing to do with sovereignty. For the little that it's worth, though, the regulating power is now sackable by the British electorate, which it wasn't before Brexit.
