I've just been chatting to a friend who likes to use the old Brexit cliches (a) voting against your own interest (b) didn't know what you were voting for (c) conned by false arguments. I ask him about the local elections and he said he voted Labour because the Tories have wrecked the economy, high inflation (and other national issues). I then put it to him that he had voted: (a) Against his own interest as the incumbent was well respected locally and does a good job, and he just voted for a young woke nutter with no experience. (b) Didn't know what he was voting for as he had no clue what the Labour candidate stood for. (c) Was conned by false arguments as local councilors can do nothing about the economy / inflation etc. He then started talking about the football lol. . But that is what tends to happen when the penny finally drops for some people. from what im seeing regarding the labour party across social media the penny certainly is finally dropping.
Vote labour in scotland get £9500 english tuition fees , privatised english water rates , end of free prescriptions and scotland treated once again as nothing more than labour party voting fodder.
Thats before we even come to the english brexiters and can they trust starmer on "making brexit work" lmfao.

All without a shred of proof. It shows just how easily led you and other mud throwers are. Those who make and spread lies and insinuated lies don't do it by accident, they do it to back up their own particular political biased position, and they do it to mislead the easily led.

Keir starmer. Now im labour leader , i am going to maintain tuition fees in england.
Trust issues , by the plebs regarding a clear compusive liar ,as reflected in labours 25 point drop in the polls over 5 months.

The silliness of the pair of you is overwhelming. Starmer has not reneged on his policy he has just explained that the economy will determine when he can do it. You and the rest of the nasties should try growing up. It seems that Most Unions, UCU included, need to grow up as well. You have still not produced the evidence I asked for about your claim (which it appears was just the product of the mud slingers) that Starmer had said he would introduce tuition fees in Scotland. Shit and mud slingers like yourselves will grab at any loose straw floating about, it is the product of pure bias, not a single brain cell used in the process.

With your zany comedy warped alternative reality views.
Clearly starmer made a cast iron commitment to abolishing tuition fees in England. Thats inarguable. Only a fool makes a cast iron uncosted commitment to a major policy then backtracks to public humiliation .
see this is why you are such a ridiculed poster on this site. Everyone from unions to plebs on internet forums that dont blindly follow everything starmer says like you need to shut up and trust someone who is conclusivly a compulsive liar. Its hilarious.
You wont win elections by insulting prospective voters , including your union backers , but you seem too dumb to understand that.
the evidence is there. The question is who is going to trust starmer.?
Lets look at what the polls are saying shall we?
5 months ago , due to starmers policy of sitting on his hands and keeeping quiet (as mandelson advised as mandelson knows starmer lammy and reeve are clowns) and the tory implosion under truss , labour were 37 points ahead.
When starmer reeve and lammy etc jump up and open their mouths , the public dont like the lies that they are seeing , and that soft lead has now dropped down to 12 points , with talks of a hung parliament , with just over a year to go to the next GE.
Dumping major pledges left right and centre on the run up to election time hardly screams government in waiting or a stable party that the public can trust their word.
Yet more evidence the public dont trust or believe a word starmer says. Takes years to build trust and seconds to break it , and once gone its gone for good. Only dimwits like you and labour dont understand that.
1. "By common agreement" ha ha, perhaps you haven't noticed just how many shit slingers there are on this forum. AND your post insinuates a lie, only to be expected. 2. To my knowledge, at no time has Starmer put a date on the elimination of tuition fees. How can he when he as no idea of the state of the economy when he and if he forms a government. 3. IF "THE EVIDENCE IS THERE" then copy and past it. Of course if it doesn't exist you can't do that, so I don't expect to see it. 4. I don't insult prospective voters I just point out when and where their complete bias overrides whatever intellect they might possess. 5. "Some evidence" ha ha, more jokes.

you unite everyone on this forum against you , the bullshit you spout and new labour.
its inarguable that he has made a humiliating u turn on a major policy.
i have earlier in the thread. You want me to repeat the same stuf you ignored earlier? Scots cannot trust the untrustworthy starmer and labour. labour equals £9500 tuition fees for our children.
you insulted the leader of a major pro labour union up the thread because she said something you didnt like about labours u turn on tuition fees. how stupid.

The abolition of tuition fees I see through your bullshit, you just pick up any comment that cuddles up to your extreme political bias, and then go --Oh! look at this nasty Labour.-- It is the easily led like yourself that has ensured that the UK economy has stumbled along over the last 70 years (except for the pre-meltdown years under New Labour) And is quite likely to continue to stumble along under more of the same old overrated Tory governments. At age 84 and my wife aged 80, both active in a sport and in good condition along with being well off and secure, I no longer really care just how much you idiots screw up YOUR future, my job now is to relax and to make sure my wife and myself enjoy our future We are doing well so far with three holidays already booked and yet to come this year.

Better that than talking about your lack of understanding of human nature and your partially false opinionated argument. His vote sent a well earned message to the government, sadly about ten years late. But that is what tends to happen when the penny finally drops for some people. Let me get this right, you recommend voting for somebody in a LOCAL ELECTION just because they belong to the right party, regardless of their experience? What kind of an idiot would be happy with their councillor, and in general with the way the council is run, and vote to change it lol. You do realise you still have to live their right? Well done, you have surpassed yourself this time with this idiotic advise... "punish" the national Tories by making your own life worse hahaha... what a fool. My bins haven't been collected this week... but at least I sent Rishi a message hahahaha.

In August 2020, voting intentions in Scotland were SNP 57%, Conservatives 20%, Labour 14%, and others 8%. In April 2023, the SNP has tumbled to 38%, Labour support had more than doubled and overtaken Tories to register 30%. LibDems, Greens and others together registered 16%. www.statista.com/statistics/1225498/scotland-holyrood-voting-intention/The 20% drop in SNP support hasn't been exactly tracked or reflected by Independence: As of April 2023, 54 percent of adults in Scotland said they would not support Scotland being independent from the United Kingdom, compared with 46 percent who would support it. Support for Scottish independence reached 53 percent in August 2020, the highest level of support for independence in the provided time period. The highest opposition to independence was in January 2018, when 57 percent of people in Scotland advised they would vote no in a hypothetical referendum.
It all looks like the SNP's spectacular tumble has been matched by Labour's equally spectacular rise in popularity in Scotland and the failure of Alba to get enough support to register.
In a general election, Labour success in Scotland could bring it UK success...
