If the Police did not attend who ever reported this would make a complaint against them, as they did attend they are still complained about, I believe the Landlady has replaced the Gollies etc , sheer lunacy

And they didn't just send one copper to take a look, they went in mob handed and confiscated. As I said, absurd. |

The police are not there to solve crimes and protect innocent people from criminals.
They are there to keep a lid on the great unwashed .

Also in your link 'Golly dolls have long been accepted as deeply offensive to Black communities. Images from the pub show some of the dolls being hung by their necks from the top of the bar.'It is very hard to believe the landlady did not know that so their actions were deliberate. Best of luck getting their licence renewed Have they? I am sure if they were offended they would speak up for themselves. I bet the sad arsehole who reported this non crime was a bloody left white woke. |

I can guarantee you if toy manufactures started to make black dolls and teddies the eternally offended woke snowflakes would say they are racist dolls and teddies because they are the wrong black, or the wrong facial expressions, or the dolls with frizzy hair were racist, the lips were too thick,... FFS you know as we as I do they are just after creating divisions in society... and if you don't know that, then you are eternally thick.

You are conferring a motive on someone with the only proof being your own belief. As regards race issues that is the usual way it works in that people are guilty of the crime of intent with no proof. The act, whatever act it may be, is proof enough for the easily offended. Are you really saying that couple haven't known that for decades those dolls are seen as offensive by many black people? I doubt it, so why would they choose to position a display they knew would offend any black people that came into their Public House? Well let us just run with that view for a moment. One of the British values we are constantly being reminded of is 'tolerance'. British people have had golliwog toys for their children for decades and was a much loved and much valued toy. It is/was a cultural icon of sorts yet those arriving here to make a better life cannot 'tolerate' the existence, ownership and visual display of such items. In fact they lack the very British value that draws them to Britain in the first place. The next consideration is well why should they tolerate that which offends them. That is the very nature of toleration that one lives with and accepts the existence and use of that which you find offensive. It is like Islam, I tolerate Islam, I find its rhetoric insulting and offensive and I am offended by the open declaration of those following it through dress, demeanour or action and I abhor the celebration of its special festivals. But I tolerate that because that is the specific British value I live by, and am expected to live by, despite the fact that I feel that much of the open display of the religion is not just to show a following but also to annoy those not of the religion and to specifically offend them in a public place. So if your view is that causing offence is unnecessary and wrong then that opens a whole can of worms where hypocrisy reigns. |

I read that the Police originally actioned this as a "hate crime", this is a sort of catch all that can be imposed on white people who fail to bend to the woke/BLM/leftie agenda, out of interest can anyone point to an occasion where a black/asian/yellow person has been charged with this.
We see the new lunatic First Minister of Scotland loudly accusing people of being white, Diane Abbott telling all and sundry that England is all right except for white people and David Lammy stirring up faux race problems for a living on his radio show.
It all does appear to be rather one sided, I personally don't display golliwogs in my sitting room out of choice, but have no objection to others doing so if they wish.
I observed life under Islamic rule when living and working in Saudi Arabia, it didn't bother me unduly, but it did give me a lasting impression that my part of Wessex would not be enhanced by adopting Sharia Law or observing Ramadan and I see no reason why we should change our way of life to accommodate this, certainly not by putting our golliwogs in a cupboard anyway.
