I have kept my two shotguns, I had to surrender my two pistols when the ban on pistols came in, the villains kept theirs and bought more firepower Yet we can still puchase a pwerfull crossbow no questions asked. My catapult is deadly.

Cashman has been sentenced to 42 years he must serve that before he can be considered to be paroled on licence Indeed, just listened to the judge sentence Cashman to life in prison with a minimum 42 years before he can be considered for parole, less 180 days he has spent on remand and when he is released he will remain on licence for the rest of his life. He wont be eligible for parole until he is 76. Still to soon imo.

Child killers rightly should be behind bars until they are ready to leave in a coffin. I think this country wastes too much effort imprisoning people for piffling things when there must surely be better options, whilst all too often letting the real scum who need to be behind bars off way too lightly. I take heart in this case from the fact that a minimum of 42 years is fairly close to a full life term. He would have to survive in prison as a child killer until he is 76, then be paroled at the earliest possible opportunity to ever walk out. The odds are against him ever coming out alive.

I tend to agree, which is something of a pleasant surprise.

He may not survive in Prison according to the Media gangsters have put a £250,000 bounty on his head amid fears he will shop other criminals.
He is said to be "public enemy number one" inside Strangeways Prison in Manchester where he has spent the last few months.
The woman who he went to that night to change his clothing after the shooting, who gave evidence against in now in the witness protection program, allegedly she too has a Contract out on her

I don't have a problem with drug dealers killing each other, the more the merrier get that filthy stuff and them off our streets, sadly as in this case innocents get caught in the cross fire

The correct response to the legal ownership of handguns and any firearms, was character references, not section 5.
Reason for ownership was always competition. You had to be a member of a club.
Thomas Hamilton wasn't and people wouldn't give him character references.
He shouldn't have had his guns.
The Police screwed up.
It was their fault that the rules weren't followed.

42 years before parole is considered is about as much as could be expected given the law . I thought the judge summed up and explained the sentence very well and she really did give Cashman as much time as she could while at the same time leaving no door ajar for appeals .
Given the company Cashman keeps and reported bounty on his head I dont think he will make the parole hearing .

Its the fact that the tax payers are lumbered with the cost of extra protection for this scum that sticks in my crawl.

Given the absence of rope as a legal option, whole life is justified.
Never let this bastard out.

Yes , he will probably be in isolation for years, already cost us a fortune to catch him prosecute him and keep him banged up, he did not even have the courage to face the little girls family when sentenced a coward
