OH, I most sincerely apologise, I did not realise you could be offended so easily, I will bear it in mind next time. But we are talking about the language used in pre-war Germany and the end results of what those words meant and I am certain that snowflake and gammon were not used in pre-war Germany in the context that is used now. I accept your apology. As we are talking about context. Pre war Germany did not have a problem with excess and illegal immigration so any comments in the current situation of excess and illegal immigration is not applicable to to pre war Germany . Glad you admit that there us no parallel . You still don't get it do you. Lineker's comments were not about immigrants or Jews or any specific section of peoples, it was about the language used to dehumanise people.

I have never encountered an establishment leftist who isn't a hypocrite, which is why arguments like this is to always be expected. I mean, this is all the left have ever done. Still, it's very obvious that it wouldn't have mattered what words were chosen by the HM chick, even if they were relatively precise, not when we have people who demand millions more arrive uninvited and to hell with the consequences.

Am I wrong? Absolutely. But it's perfectly OK to smear people as racists, nazis and scum whilst playing faux outrage over <insert made-up-bollocks> whenever the opportunity shows itself.

Well which language dehumanised? 'Illegal', 'bogus' or 'criminal', invasion, blaming immigrants for the ills of the country, referring to the immigration problem as a 'small boat problem' .....................

Well which language dehumanised? 'Illegal', 'bogus' or 'criminal', invasion, blaming immigrants for the ills of the country, referring to the immigration problem as a 'small boat problem' ..................... Several questions of a factual basis. Are they arriving illegally? Is it an invasion? Is there a problem with criminality arriving. Who has blamed immigrants for the ills of the country? Are the small boat arrivals indeed a problem not just for teh British people but for the people trying to make the journey as well? None of what you have indicated 'dehumanises'. The problem with the left is that facts get in the way of narrative and controlling the language, irrespective of how accurate it may be is part of that process. How does the fragrant Ms Abbott describe such. We should not play their game.

No I object to them being called 'illegal immigrants', I have never argued the fact that they have arrived by an 'illegal or irregular' route. 'Ille4gal immigrants are those that have outstayed their visas or are living in this country without applying for asylum. The people in the boats claim asylum when they arrive. Calling immigrants 'criminals and refering to the boats and not the immigrants are dehumanising comments. 'Stop the small boats'. 'Stop the asylum seekers'. See the difference.

Illegal immigrants are factually those who arrive, or stay, when they are not entitled to do so in law. None are entitled by law, they may have that law breaking cast aside as they claim asylum but they are still illegal migrants when they leave France and when they arrive on our shores.. Who called them 'criminals'? I know they bring criminality with them that is beyond dispute as we have seen too often to our cost. No one has said stop asylum seekers as some of those arrive by other means. It is specifically those arriving in small boats that is the problem being addressed. If we say stop asylum seekers that would be inaccurate as it implies all asylum seekers and that is most certainly not what people, or the government, are seeking. There is no dehumanisation, there is factually accurate descriptions.

Wrong arriving by an illegal route does not make you an illegal immigrant, if it did they could be returned whence they came legally and there would be no need to concoct laws to deport them. You support the use of language that incites fear and hatred?

You support the use of language that incites fear and hatred? They wish to arrive in the UK and use asylum laws to enable them to live permanently or for the duration of their enforced exile. They illegally entered the country that makes them illegal immigrants. They have another status as an asylum seeker but they are always illegal immigrants until granted refugee status.
