Times were simpler back then , we used to cycle all over the place over the moors during the summer holidays, You'll get some flack for promoting them as the good old days, the millenials don't like that. Give them another 30 years and they'll be talking about the good old days.

Last week was another fun packed week in Old London Town
In todays media
Following a week which saw a total of 10 people stabbed between Monday and Friday, this past weekend saw a shocking five more people knifed across London. The attacks, which happened across the north, south, and west of the city, were joined by a series of further grim incidents including a horror crash that left two in hospital and a violent burglary to name just a few.
The violence began on Friday evening with two men stabbed in South London, Last night a man was stabbed to death in Tottenham

I was watching the tv series on the brinks mat robbery,Noye who is out now killed two people a cop doing his job and a bloke in a road rage incident. He’s no loveable rogue as portrayed as were some times the Krays they’re all murderous thugs and he (Noye) should never have been freed.

We moved to the outskirts years ago just two miles from the M25 as it was safer than inner London, now the gangs are out here as well, we are going to view a couple of houses down in Dorset next month if they have not sold by then, come what may we are getting out , London is too crowded , too expensive, too dirty , too noisy, and getting too dangerous, same in Birmingham, Manchester etc I lived in Manchester for 12 years and realised all of this. I've lived in Somerset for the last 20 years and find it changes you. After you have lived in the country for some time you take a trip back to the city, even for a day, and you find all the noise and blight extremely unnerving. The disadvantage of the countryside though is there are far less people. Like in a city like Manchester there are so many people living in close proximity that you get to meet more interesting people. The countryside is like everyone is in the one crowd, and if that crowd does not suit you, then there is no alternative. It is also a place of many very poorly educated people and out of them are complete retards. We have witnessed two murders in a town of 10 000 in the last year, which is I think about 20 times the average for the UK. Charities also like to relocate smak heads coming out of prison into the countryside too, so it is threatened with trouble as well. It's sad to say, but the whole country just about is losing its head. The only places which i think you still get some sort of civility is where the average house is multiple millions of quid, so the folk there have the clout to keep the crap out.

I was born in E8, have lived for a short while in N17, now live in N16 (Dalston, Tottenham and Hackney). Parents still live in E8... My commiserations - some proper shit holes there. They were going downhill when the last of my rellies moved out 30 years ago.

Hackney was a place where there were many furniture makers and there used to be the top veneer supplier in that area but I think it closed down. There also used to be a greyhound track at Hackney Wick but that close around 25 years ago.
