What kind of obfuscating waffle are you trying to save face with now 😂 I'm not. If you don't have the ability to put two and two together then you are just wasting your time, my time and the space you are using. BYE Nope. You are wasting my time posting waffle and obfuscation.

Hume's book is not about emotions. In fact it is surprisingly modern in that it deals with issues that come into quantum mechanics. Are you familiar with observation in QM and relativity? It is a right head-twister, as was Hume's book. I'm not saying it was all exactly as we think of now, but the enquiry was barking up the right tree, and when others took Hume seriously they too barked up the right tree until it was mastered. He was on the bleeding edge. He was Newton-type figure, as in an intellectual revolutionary, willing to argue against the entire body of academic thought. This is why he is so great, and why the BBC would never talk of him. They rather promote feminist writers and the like. Academic thought and logic are secondary to emotional feelings and reactions when it comes to understanding the human condition. Your reply has nothing to do with the post you quote. You fail to understand Hume's contribution.

You fail to understand Hume's contribution. I am advising that logic is where the explanations come about in an attempt to give reason to thoughts, feelings and actions. Even when there is no understanding of the hormonal reactions taking place. I would suggest that religion is the best that minds have been able to conceive to answer the many unknow hormonal reactions that take place in people. A soul is one way of explaining something that was not understood.

A soul is one way of explaining something that was not understood. Logic goes back to the ancient Greeks, as does mathematics. Logic was developed in the 10th and 11th centuries by the church in the UK to a highly advanced level. This was not enough to do science with though. Euclid was 300BC, but science was a product of the British Enlightenment which Hume holds a premier place in. Locke and Berkley were also a part of that process too. This is why the intro to Hume's great book means so much. He saw what we see today in politics. He fixed it, but the problem has come back as we regress along the evolutionary scale to pre-Enlightenment thinking.

It wasn't a one off though was it? She is well known for using very hostile language (especially against Starmer) including this classic LIVE ON TV: It wasn't even made in public it was AFAIA made to the already converted at a meeting of the already converted. And was aimed at Boris and his close crew. So two things 1. Her comment appears to be fair comment in that context. 2. R/Wing propaganda has then made it into something it isn't. IMO dishonest propaganda like the above should and would be under attack in a society that believes in justice and fairness and acts upon it. You really don't get it do you? You can't base your politics on taking the moral high ground then go around using hate speech and making disgusting jokes about your "ginger growler" and then lie about it! In this case, she was outed as using hostile language several times in a period when a Tory MP had been stabbed to death. She isn't saying she disagree with Tory policy and arguing for a different way of doing things (like a grown up would). Her language is designed to dehumanise the Tories. She is literally doing the same thing she accuses the Tories of doing when they talk about immigration.

According to the information I have read so far, she was not dehumanising the Tories, she was dehumanising Boris and his team. In which case the dehumanising the Tories line is nothing more than disgusting Tory propaganda. Similar to the dishonest distortion of Brown's 'British jobs for British workers' comment.

As Troll master I wouldn't expect you to have any depth of understanding or any ability to prove your point objectively without bias.

There is a disturbing new allegation that she was seen to be doing this at a picnic. When she was challenged about her behaviour she claimed that all she was doing was keeping the flies off her sandwiches .

I have not seen any "hard evidence" that Rayner was referring to all Tory MPs with her OTT remark, perhaps you have some unequivocal evidence of just who she referred to that you would like to post?

Of course she would, there has already been unnecessary over insinuation and apparently misrepresentation of the incidence, so why wouldn't she? She should have known better than to ask anything of the Tory faced Mail.
