Points of interest:
1) DNA confirmed bone sample from small hand showed ‘human’ genetic origin.

2) DNA tentatively suggested origin was China region - more testing clearly needed here. Many reports still coming from China of wild hominids.

3) Creature was distinctive and hairy enough for monks to be convinced it was a ‘yeti’ or a ‘hairy wildman/woman/young adult’ … rare enough to preserve it and attach mythological and superstitious significance to the artifact.
Btw … a surprising omission - but was it’s sex mentioned?)

4) More modern DNA testing we have today, which was applied to the Ortzi iceman, could throw more detail exactly which region this wild human grew up in ??… Was it indigenous … or a nomad hairy being from China … ousted to roam the Bhutan and other regions?

CONCLUSION:

This test could confirm that there are many different types/variants of wild-men/women and children of varying sizes being seen … showing this could be a branch of very hairy homo-sapiens that we modern humans likely evolved from recently.
Clearly civilisation and the habit of wearing animal skins and clothing gradually over the ages stripped us of our natural hairy exterior … and the need for natural fur.

This genetic result suggests modern humans are not a distinct species from some types of wild-man/women … and inter-breeding might still be possible … although the disadvantages of a lesser haired offspring wouldn’t survive long in their cave environments in colder regions … so that experiment would have failed. Hairless modern humans captured would likely be regarded and used as a cannibalised high protein food source … rather than as a mating partner that would bring a genetic advantage ensuring evolutionary survival.
A white hairless baby would have been a runt in a litter and killed at birth … cannibalised most likely. Nothing that attracted attention in the bush, near human Civilisations, that couldn’t hide easily and blend in, assist in the hunting of game … was a danger to their very existence … especially in the modern age where humans with guns became a serious problem.

“Recorded history” should include skeletal evidence dug out of the ground and recorded in newspaper and film archives. …. if scientists have removed and lost/destroyed those measured bones … doesn’t mean they didn’t exist … nor does it mean they should be airbrushed and whitewashed from our history.
