You are assuring guessing again, on strike days there are only about 500,000 people taking part in the strike, not all Nurses are on strike many are still working, not all Teachers are on strike, if the Government did agree to pay the Nurses an Inflation busting pay rise , that would cost the taxpayers and extra £700 million a year, we cannot afford that no matter how much I think the nurses need paying more. The strikes are making it more difficult to bring inflation down which badly effects all of the 67 million people in the UK who are struggling to make ends meet pay their rising energy bills, mortgages, rent , rising food bills, having to take days off from work because some of the schools are shut on strike days. The Rails strikes Bus Strikes hit workers hard as many cannot get to work, some cannot get to their Hospital appointments, operations are cancelled adding to the ever increasing NHS waiting lists, businesses are going to the wall as people cannot get into town centres to do their shopping etc etc. The longer these strikes happen the worse it will get, the Union led strikes and not all Unions are calling for strike action the more damage to our economy will nose dive IMO I think they are trying to bring about an early GE as they think Labour could win The NHS is spending £b's on agency staff each year that would more than cover the costs of any rise awarded. Strikes have no effect on inflation. Yes the strikes do affect workers but don't forget that those on strike are workers. The government wants the strikes. They could stop them today, not by issuing a pay award but by simply sitting down and talking, they are refusing. Strikes damage our economy which was damaged enough during Covid, all the taxpayers money was spent and the Government have had to borrow more, all of which will take years to pay off Due to the strikes and people not being able to get to work due to the strikes on Public Transport it will take longer to get inflation going the right way downwards, jobs are going that mean the Welfare Bill will go up not down As for the Government wanting strikes that is sheer nonsense , but then again you are known for making stupid statements

So where does the money for the agency staff then come from if you have spent it on pay rises? Dear me. 😔 Well you will still need agency staff - the NHS has 130,000 vacancies. So if you spend the current budget for agency staff on pay rises for permanent staff how do you pay for the agency workers? I get the feeling you have not thought this through..

Inflation does not come down, it only goes up, can you not see that? Why will the government not agree to talk about pay then, the unions would call off the strikes but the Tories refuse to talk.

I get the feeling you have not thought this through.. Do you know how much agency staff are paid in the NHS, probably not. Pay nurses a good wage, make nursing an attractive job, employ more nurses, reduce agency staff, save money. Agencies are private businesses and pay their shareholders dividends, money that should be spent on patients.

More than enough, but close none dom status, sensible windfall tax, stop businesses paying less tax than they should, go after the fraudsters that ripped us up during covid, fine the Tory party for fraud in office.........

If you think the UK is a serious threat to Russia you are deluded. We waste £billions on 'defence' that we will never get the opportunity to use if the worst comes the the worst. We have nuclear weapons and a load of US airbases. Why do you think Putin hasn't invaded a NATO country?

Wasn't that before the Tories got in and 'managed' a reduction in wages under the guise of austerity? 🤣
