I came across a survey, I don't know to post a link by phone sorry I'm technically illeterate, about how London is the worst city in the world when it comes to planning the traffic. Namely, in London it took 36 minutes for traffic to move a distance of 10 km, a bit over 6 miles, and that was the worst of any major city. Most athletes can run that distance faster. What do you think: Do people enjoy being stuck in traffic for hours or is it just that they don't have any options? I mean, that question is for those who ask why don't those people take the tube. Depends on what you mean by London. I drove down to Highgate last Saturday, and other than a set of temporary traffic lights had no issues. I wouldn't fancy driving in Central London though. Two million people do use the tube everyday though, with anything from three to five million journeys.

Given the proliferation of bike lanes and LTN's which are designed to cause congestion it seems the policy is working.

Londonistan remains world's most congested city, report claims It's all designed in pollution and congestion so that we can be charged for solving "The problem". It started with Red Ken dicking around with the traffic lights and has since been enthusiastically embraced by Khanage with his ULEZ extension and pretty much every lefty council in London with their daft cycle lanes and LTNs.
