Hi everyone
This is particularly for Om15 and vinny, to try to stop them derailing other threads.
So have a go. What, in your opinion is good and bad about the SNP?
I intend to manage this the following way.
I hate big multi theme threads where people throw in everything they can think of and the truth gets obscured in sheer volume. So if someone lists a good or bad point or a series of them, I will take that point and hive it off to it's own unique thread. Where it and on it should be discussed. Then with the next one and so on.

you did not exactly sell it Hi jeger No and it makes me think this forum is not the place for me. I need one where folk deal with one thing at a time, prove one side or the other THEN go to the next point. I don't think many do that here

There are a fair few trolls on here though. They are the ones who if you try and have a sensible argument they fail through lack of knowledge and intelligence.

I live Southern Scotland most of my time 1. No they aren't. The SNP only run one council (Dundee) with a majority of councillors. The party runs 9 councils as a minority and 4 more in coalitions. Labour run one council with a majority (West Dunbartonshire) & nine as a minority. The Tories either run four councils as a minority or lead a coalition. The LDs lead a coalition in one. Independents run two LAs and are in coalition in one en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Local_government_in_Scotland#Council_control So they are in power in only fourteen of thirty two councils but, in only one are they sure of getting their way. 2. If the infrastructure is declining it is because the Government is not receiving enough back, from Westminster, to address the situation. In any case England fares just as bad if not worse. 3. Trolling statement. 4. "most of the time"? Where are you really from?

Then with the next one and so on. A Couple of Good Points: It has taken Independence from being a side-show in its first 60-70 years to being the major party in Scotland. It has run Scotland well over 15 years Bad Points: they have held back the Independence movement by failing to do anything to further the cause. As a result the party has lost numerous members (many of them activists).

In fact the dreadfulness of the uk government has had more to do with recent boosts to independence than anything the SNP has managed.

15 shambolic years noted by mistake after mistake with draconian law changes thrown in for the sake of it, and a fair bit of anti English xenophobia thrown in too.
Fuck the tinpot SNP.
Glad to see the back of the extremely dodgy Sturgeon fuhrer.
Time for a truly liberal government to repeal all their bollocks and fix Scotland.

Repeal the SNP's alteration of already safe drink driving limits which were lowered for ideological reasons rather than on safety grounds.
Abolish the smacking ban.
Repeal the "Hate Crime and Public Order (Scotland) Bill" which currently gives religious fundamentalist minorities the opportunity to use feeling offended as a weapon against criticism.
Repeal the Alcohol (Minimum Pricing) (Scotland) Act 2012, which is an unnecessary killjoy law that does nothing for public health, nothing for the pub trade and just bullies drinkers (who can bypass it entirely by brewing their own and drinking at home).
The Gender Representation on Public Boards (Scotland) Act 2018 which insists on promoting women on public boards, for no other reason than they're women. Aptitude, not gender, is what matters. This policy has the potential to promote a less capable woman, over a more capable man, because it chooses the person by their sex rather than their abilities.
The silly Air Weapons and Licensing (Scotland) Act 2015 which caused the closure of a number of legitimate businesses whilst doing nothing about mail order crossbows or conventional bows, knives, machetes, or swords and also makes unnecessary work for the Police.
The Land "Reform" act which did away with Right To Buy in Scotland. All that was needed was to obligate councils to build. The SNP's prevention of council house tenants having the option of buying their own home is disgraceful.
They are a disgusting disgraceful shambolic bunch of politicians who shouldn't be trusted with a kettle, never mind devolved government.
