Not sure the circumstance surrounding this story, but it would have been a good idea to substitute this Uranium for a harmless substance and then followed the trail.
The security forces really needed to know who's hands this deadly substance was going to end up in, if those involved are aware this substance has been found the security forces will never find out who they are, they should have just let the package reach its intended destination and then pounce.

No, no - the current terror threat is from the "Far Right".
Meanwhile, back in the real world...

And then we dig into the story and find...
"Met Police told MailOnline: 'We can confirm officers from the Met's Counter Terrorism Command were contacted by Border Force colleagues at Heathrow after a very small amount of contaminated material was identified after routine screening within a package incoming to the UK on 29 December 2022.'
Commander Richard Smith said: 'I want to reassure the public that the amount of contaminated material was extremely small and has been assessed by experts as posing no threat to the public..."
Which, as usual, is somewhat at odds with the headline.

Very small amounts entering the UK on a regular basis leads to BIG amounts.
It stands to reason they wouldn't be sending in huge parcels of Uranium, in fact they don't need huge amounts of Uranium to cause substantial damage.
Nuclear weapons typically use a concentration of more than 90 percent uranium-235. 15 kilograms: weight of a solid sphere of 100 percent uranium-235 just large enough to achieve a critical mass with a beryllium reflector.
They only have to put it in drinking water.
Uranium mainly targets the kidneys: Damage starts to appear after taking in 25 milligrams, while intakes of more than 50 milligrams can cause renal failure and death

It was probably the army who found it as they have been standing in for the not worth a wank border force as they are mostly on strike.

It wouldn't be rocket science to start looking at baggage handlers who have access to these parcels, but it beggars the question, how many of these packages have already entered the UK undetected. .... quite frightening.

It was contamination, not usable quantities of Uranium.

On a scale of seriousness of hazardous imports, that has to be at the top. I'm sure that the best minds are investigating this, and have been since the discovery, and in the time that this was held from release to the press. I hope this is the first, because if others have got through we are in deep poo.

It was contamination, not usable quantities of Uranium. Yes very small traces of it

Have you read my post above? The headline was seriously misleading. So no "Met police anti-terror probe" then? The Mets Anti Terrorist Unit was called in and is investigating it, the Senior Officer in charge of it confirmed it on TV
